Had a look last night and I've done 3,342 laps of Syncopia. Next highest is Anulpha pass with around 2,200. I've also got over 164hrs of race time, and I've only had the game three months!

Can't belief it, just over a week ago we were talking to Lurifax about his new PB and now he's gone...
Does anyone else think it would be a good idea to have a Zone Battle meet with several of us all in Icari as a sort of memorial race for Luri? I know I haven't posted in here before - been a bit too scared of all your skills from reading it - but the idea's been niggling at me for a while now.
count on me ;)
That sound like a cool idea :D, u could also do something like DP89's Speedlap challenge, some one picks a track and we all zone like crazy and post it to see who gets the best. post like the amount of speed pads, perfect laps and zones and overall laps and see who comes out on top in each catagory.
On Saturday,
We tryed to start a Battle Zone night.
We will start at 7PM & 30 minutes (GMT+0).
I want see if there will be somes zoners ;)
Ace3 & PDenton will be ready. I will record all BZ. If pilots like, maybe we could think about that BZ tournament.
I stay there and on PSN.
See ya ;)
Yeah soon. And dont worry, it's my fault. Try to create a meeting without a 'before' thread lol :x
I would play if you had informed beforehand..
Zone Battle... one of the most awesome and under played modes in the game due to people afraid to go at speeds any higher than Flash. One of my favorite modes to play.
my favorite , pity i dont find much zone battles online
Well we were online for 3 hours BZone. It's very difficult to stay with that speed.
I got around 12G HD video. I will encode in SD and youtube for those who like. I played 99% internal view.
In memories...

Truly amazing mate :clap
A great tribute :)
Very nice ProblemSolver.
Thx guys.
As I was turning in on zone 148 I was already on a new record going
by score as my body started to fill up with adrenaline like nothing else
while approaching zone 150. My blood pressure was rising as well, could
feel it everywhere. Man, what a feeling! Only under theses circumstances
I really feel myself challenged.
And so I was crossing zone 151 (old record) while something interesting
started to happen. I was fully in sync with the track and there was
nothing I could improve on, everything was aligned perfectly. Knowing
this while crossing 151, I mentally closed my eyes and said to myself -
ok here we go - and the feeling left inside me was just hope!
In retrospective, I believe this feeling helped me quite a lot, since I
had to let go of thinking being able to rationally control the situation.
Something carried me through the remaining nine zones. And man, it
took ages. But it was so amazing! I essentially lost the craft while
thinking about taking a picture out of zone 160. Well, I'm fine with it. ;)
Next up; Metropia. Time to get my record back and to put some solid
numbers up there. :sonar Will be my last stint for this year, I guess.
Hey Raza, I took note of your records on most of the standard Fury
tracks. Good job, mate! And Reezy, keep going on TDR Reverse! I want
to see you fighting! :D:+
I love reading ProblemSolver's tales of extreme zoning, there's something poetic about them. :)
Congrats on the new W.R dude, and the tribute to Marcus is a touch of class.
While my efforts pale into insignificance, I've recently been trying to beat my P.B on Syncopia - currently around 290,000, and something quite worrying has been happening... when I get to really high speeds (in the 90s) I realise I'm not breathing properly. Adrenaline's coursing through my veins, my blood pressure's through the roof and I'm suddenly aware I've been holding my breath! Worse still, even though I know I'm doing it I can't stop and my breathing comes in fits and bursts until I feel quite feint :eek
Has anyone else experienced this frightening phenomenon?
I like ZBs but i'm absolute crap, doing them more often now though :).
Haha very nice PS, that sounds all too familiar. You just have to let the situation take over, if you think about doing anything wrong you WILL. Even a split-second... it's awesome. :D
You'll have Metropia back no time, the record I set aint unbeatable by any means.

SUPER SONIC http://www.consolewars.de/messageboa.../musik_015.gif
@Jav: Well, the cool thing about all us addicts is that we know about
each other without talking. I really can share the feeling everyone is
experiencing while being at its limit. This somehow draws us all together.
@Colonel__Gaddafi: Thx Colonel. I literally had tears in my eyes tributing
the Syncopia record to Marcus. It's quite tough setting such a record
knowing a friend of us, who was in love with Syncopia as well, were gone
the other day.
About the experience you're describing. I guess your body is shocked
at times when you are on your limit, esp. when you are very close to the
end of a very good run. I know this feeling but I do not experience it very
often. It also happens in daily life now and then. Perhaps the brain needs
so much energy in this moment such that breathing becomes secondary
for a few seconds.
totally agree, just lurking at zb & zone mode these days, tbh shame on me still doesn't have zone zeus or airbraker (completely nut wth speed lap I admit) BUT I feel more & more attracted, like P_Denton turned Ace3cube into a zb fan lol. I want to make my zeus on moa fwd. I don't know why, but I really want to. Just a question of time to spare on that. And yeah what a feeling to handle that speed. This game has an incredible gameplay, I spent my time into online multi/speed lap but I think I could easily spend the same amount of time into zone or zb... If I had time. Jeez this game is a serious drug ah ah.
I spend very little time doing anything other than Zone, Z.B and eliminators.
Hear hear PS. ^^ I'm not nearly at your level, but I wholeheartedly approve of providing Zone and Zone Battle to more people. :D And Airbraker is surprisingly easy on Syncopia at least. Just make sure you use a heavy ship like an Auricom.
I'm having massive cravings for Zone Mode right now. Been feeling it the last couple of days now, I miss the pretty colours and the awesome feelings that go with them :brickwall
Come Christmas I'll be on Zone Mode like a fly on sh*t :g
Well I doubt this would qualify as very awesomeness but I managed to hit zone 100 for the 1st time ever.
Unfortunately I didnt get to experience it at all cos I think i hit zone 100 on thelast corner and then missed the overpass and blew up, I was hoping it would reset me so I could at least go over the bridge on zone 100 but sadly no.
@Amplificated, my first run on corridor 12 I didn't even reach zone 40, and definitely hated it. Go left is the best advice I can give :)
Corridon's not a particularly forgiving track, I'll say that. But I'm pretty sure I can get 75 if I try hard enough. I got 71 on Mallavol last night, so here's going for top twenty. ;3
@amplificated: You're not the first to ask me that actually. ^^ Both TwitchySpitfire and yeldar didn't know this either, but one of the tricks to Zone is knowing that while Handling, Shield, Thrust, Top Speed etc are all the same i.e. maximum, the 'hidden values' on the ships remain the same.
Rob and Colin have stated before on the forums that each ship has 'hidden characteristics' that are written into the ship programming. The most important of these are the Centre of Mass and the Mass itself of the ship. These remain constant for Zone and Zone Battle ships as well as the regular variants.
Thus, although FEISAR appears to be the best option for the zone having the 'best' handling, at higher speeds its' light weight makes it twitchier. A heavier craft will be more planted at speed above Zen and easier to control. A basic rundown of ship weights follows:
Featherweight: Icaras and Harimau
Lightweight: Asssegai, FEISAR and AG-Sysems
Middlewight: Mirage and Qirex
Heavyweight: Piranha, Goteki 45 and EG-X
Superheavyweight: Triakis and Auricom
The other thing to remember is that the Centre Of Mass remains the same. A big problem most people have with the Qirex is the twitchiness of it - that's because the COM is very far forward, so it rotates about that point. Conversely, the AG-Systems has its' COM close to the rear, meaning the front points towards where you want to go, hence its' popularity.
Of the SHW ships, the Triakis has more weight towards the front than the Auricom, so the Auricom by default is the best ship for Zone. QED.
Would you consider EG-X to have a fairly centered COM?
Zone 100 on AP is still a good achievement. Keep going! :):+
It's very awesome to fly over the bridge from zone 110 onwards. :dizzy
@Challenger #001: You need to separate more between the two modes.
This holds true for all the Zone Battle ships, right.
About a year ago, I found out that even the ZONE craft has hidden
characteristics with respect to each team. I don't know if this is
intended or if it is just an programming error, but under extreme
conditions I can figure out a slight difference between some of these
crafts. However, for the average and even the skilled zoners out there,
there won't be any difference (I don't even know anyone who can
confirm on the situation), but if you put the craft to its utmost limit,
you may recognize a certain (weak) inconsistency in behavior among
them.
Well, how about that. Didn't realise there would be a difference between each of the Zone ships
I had no idea either, always thought they were identical. May have to have a bash with the Auricom :)
Just had another couple of shots at Corridon 12 and got a rank fitting in with what I have on most other tracks; thanks for the help :P
Had a huge collapse at Mach 1, so there's definitely room for improvement as well. I think the biggest problem was that corner - having to find the position on the shoulder that allows you to not oversteer so much.
I still hold the opinion that all zone craft are the same. I've used every single one in zone mode to get full loyalty on them, and not noticed one iota of difference at all.
The difference is bigger in ZB.
Just set a new PB on Syncopia (136 zones); the "Perfect Lap" statement at Z132 was priceless :hyper
Strange is, that >125 zone it was easier to maintain perfect lines (this could be felt especially when passing through the first chicane), but one mistake = death :)
