In addition to Wipeout Pulse and Wipeout Pure, right now I am playing Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on my DS

I'm also thinking about picking up The World Ends With You (Squeenex title) or Nanostray II (had some pretty highly ranked scores on the first title, back in the day) for my DS when I finish Zelda.

Otherwise, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 for mah PSP!

Don't have a PS3 or Xbox 360 but will probably get Okami for my Wii sometime soon. And once Wipeout HD is formally dated I'll take the plunge on a PS3

I got the demo of this (it`s called "Everybody`s Golf 2" on this side of the pond), and it`s great - very similar mechanics to the PS3 version. But honestly the PS3 "Everybody`s Hot Shots Golf" (whatever it`s called) is sooooo impressive - you might as well give in to the inevitable sooner rather than later and get that big expensive beastie!

    Sony salesman here....

ya , well i played the demo and read reviews on release, and that was more than enough to steer me away from it, the demo played like an awful halo knock-off, and the dialogue butchered the game by your comrades saying things like "meet back at the base...then we can get some chow!" (while he points at you and smiles) and worst of all "move up men, theres a valley full of bad guys up ahead, take em out." who in the hell uses the term "bad guys" in a videogame anymore. come to find out its just a bunch of spanish speaking rebels...oooooo very intense. the pistol shoots like a sniper rifle, all the gun scopes are the same, and the machine guns all essentially do the same thing, i played it on hard and it was like i was playing on easy. the game blows worse than the turok for ps3 did. end of story

I really should check this out-- I think of golf as mostly being a handheld experience (e.g., the various Mario Golf games plus HSG on the PSP) but I really enjoyed Mario Golf on the Gamecube too.

So how is the online in HSG for the PS3? Worth playing?

ok so i just finished the demo that just came out for DBZ burst limit, and that game will be a definite pickup with its budokai fighting style and the online co-op/versus. that in game "events" are awsome along with very crisp and clean graphics, better than in any other dbz fighting game to date

HSG online is great stuff, Frances, and very professionally done. Despite the game having different names each side of the Atlantic the whole world seems to be able to play each other except the Japanese, for some reason.
Basically you create a mad little avatar character and enter the lobbies, which are unique little worlds like swimming pool-sides, japanese restaurants and campsites, where you wander about and interact with things and chat to people and even play a simple game of football while you wait to play golf.

In the lobby you can either enter pre-arranged tournaments on the servers, with up to 50 players, or set up your own match rooms, where you can see the other golfers as they play. Best thing is it`s very very friendly, however tense the online matches become, and I haven`t seen any "trash talk" at all, though as expected the top players are good.

Online enables you to win trophies and prizes like extra gear for your lobby character or abilities for the main golfer characters. Also offline feats of golfing mastery like holes in one and albatrosses can win extra clothes and equipment for your lobby character. You can even get to your PSN friends list on the XMB from the in-game lobby.

Ridger Racer, Ace Combat, Burnout, NFS, GTA and the best of the bests Gran Turismo and Wipeout. The only two true Sony titles still on the market since the first Playstation came on the market in 1995. Its somes it up, im pretty much a racing nut. Hence a Wipeout fan.

Playing through NFS ProStreet on the 360.

Not as bad as I'd heard, but then again it could have been a LOT better. CRAP drift mode, however. Juiced 2 shits all over it.

Drift mode on NFS PRO street is different than Carbon cause you've got to give the clutch a quick flick just like in real life, to loose traction on the rear to commence the drift. Fun **** to do on PRO street as well as real life.

Hmm. Wondering, does anybody drive one or know somebody who owns one of those old school Toyota Corolla AE86. The last RWD Corolla Variant with the 1.6 engine.

I would very much like to buy one in good nick. If anybody knows one for sale. There as hard as **** to find. But a damn good vehicle. Would very much like to own one now.

Hmm, maybe thats what I'm doing wrong. I just give the handbrake a tap and hold the left stick in the opposite direction.

    Drag mode is awesome, though

I've just started playing Singstar again and verymuch enjoying it, cause I was at a uni party last week falling asleep in the corner(I don't drink/was bored) until I got dragged into a game after which I wasted everyone and hogged the game with one of my mates for the rest of the night
    Yay! for Tom Jones

Wow, just looked back at an earlier message from me in this thread saying I was playing Oblivion... I've been playing it again for the last couple of weeks, only this time I've got twin 8800GTS cards ripping it to pieces.

Also picked up Mass Effect on PC which I'll get into once I get some more time on my hands. Looks and runs like a dream though.

FInally, I'm still going on Guitar Hero III. About halfway through career mode on Expert and just downloaded the new Motorhead pack. Made sense considering I'm going to see them in November

Never managed to reply to this thread but the last 6-7 months have been 90% Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for me. It made my copy of Pulse collect dust (I don't know if this is good or bad).

Tell you what I love playing the most apart from WipEout...SHMUPS!!! The vertical kind...horizontal just disorientates me for some reason...

I have a whole collection of them...PC shmups, Megadrive shmups, SNES shmups, Arcade shmups...love em...the bullet hell you get in these babies induce a kind of psychedelia that transcends everything... It's a pity shmup games are a dying genre...not many of them around anymore...

Not many of them are around? *Ahem*
    On PS3 alone:
    Blast Factor
    Super Stardust HD
Rocketmen [Get the other four before that one, I heard it's quite bad]
Novastrike [Not sure about this one]
    Everyday Shooter
    On X-Box 360:
Geometry Wars [Obviously. That's also the only one I know]
    PSP:
Polygun Wars (Homebrew) [Geometry Wars for PSP]
No Gravity The Plague of Mind (To be released) [Demo available for CFW]
    R-Type Command (PSN Game)
    Many other homebrews

    I wouldn't say it's dead just yet.
