    Thumbs down Least Favourite Track

Citta Nuova. Need I say more?

A sour mixture of poorly designed, overly sharp turns in abundance and, of course, that corner. I just find it an absolute pest to race on!

yes that last 'corner' is tricky , at speed class like flash & more you can get a turbo at the end of the tunnel , do a barrel roll and land after that huge difficulty.

Best track in the whole game imo.
    But that was another thread...

Citta for me is not too good a track, but not too bad either. Sure you need a lot of skill to fly a perfect lap on it and in the higher speed classes this task seems to be impossible sometimes, but hey, isn't that exactly what made Manor Top the most loved track in W3O?

My most hated track would definately be Paris Hair. It's like poison for my eyes when I fly it... All pink and kinky.... Wuargh! Yuk!

Manor top is considered the hardest track of WO 3 to get perfect laps on? I found Stanza Inter was a lot harder than Manor Top for perfectnesseses.

me too. I do use assegai all the time so those 90 degree turns are simple to do, however I can understand someone hating it if they only ever used icarus or something.

I was actually referring to the hugely sharp corner fairly near the beginning with the yellow fence blocking off an incomplete section of track. I've messed up there on lap 3 countless times and lost races!

I'm sure that hairpin has a name, but I can't find it anywhere anymore.
was something like Larrys Plunge if I recall correctly?

I hated Stanza at first, but after "getting into the flow of it" I really love it now. Next to Porto Kora and Sampa Run it's the track I feel the most comfortable with in W3O.

Back on topic: In Pure I also dislike Burgertown a lot. I can't really tell you why I feel like this, maybe it's that I just didn't get used to it yet... But if you want to kick my ass on Kai, simply challenge me on Burgertown or Paris Hair - it'll be a sure win for you

    Shitta Nuova, no contest.

    Haha.

Well, it seems like Citta FREAKING Nuova is the winner, but Paris Hair isn't doing too badly, either.

My most hated is Citta Nuova fu' sho, yet ironically enough, it was expectedly frustratingly hard on Rapier yet a breeze on Phantom in comparison. I still haven't done the Time Trials, however. I have to say Sebenco Peak is pretty bad. I dislike most of the tracks on the Omega Pack. That cardboard one is cool though, in my opinion.

the only issue I have with the omega tracks is the corners
    especially on paris hair
there's something different about the geometry of the bends on this track (and to a lesser extent some of the other omegas) that makes it really hard for me to get right with a dpad.
I always mess up the bend in the eye tunnel
every time I play it, I wish I had a neGcon to take it on with.

the aesthetic I don't have a problem with, and each of the omegas has something in it's look that appeals to me.
would be nice if the ships didn't spill out into the rest of the game though. maybe something for next time?

I don't really have an entire track that I dislike above all others. I dread the peaks in the snaky bit on citta, I often hit the billboard above the track. and I dread the turn at the high point on sebenco peak too, I can never seem to get my timing right
I like most of the rest of the tracks.. there are a few other bits on various tracks that I often mess up, but I get them right often enough that it feels rewarding and really feels like it was skill rather than luck that got me through.

Almost all of WipEout PurE is like that. I used to find Blue Ridge a pain in ass, but now I think it's a fine, linear track. When you compare it to the corner busting in Citta, anyway.

I still think Blue Ridge would be a much finer track if the last corner was a single, sweeping right hander, and the first corner was a single, sweeping left hander. As it stands I just don't think it has any flow to it. Graphically it's very pretty, and it's a nice environment, but for me it falls between the two stools of technical, and fast & open.

It's the same problem that blights Citta Nuova, I think, although Citta's problems run much deeper than that.

I have never had a problem with Blue Ridge to be honest - I find most of the turns are bearable and the course is certainly well designed. The hairpin on Citta Nuova most certainly isn't, however!

I agree with you totally, Rob.

The v-turn hairpin on Citta is the only part of that track that I like. I think it`s one of the best corners in Pure. It`s possible to take it with very little speed loss, but you have to really attack it, and your timing must be precise and you have to be absolutely committed to what you`re doing. If you get it wrong you can lose over 5 seconds by hitting the inside of the turn and ending up the wrong side of the wall. But if you don`t take this risk you`re going to turn very slowly and messily. This part of Citta is about daring, the rest of it is about coping, however good we get at doing that, imo Perhaps the chicane jump is a good test of cojones too, but like the rest of Citta, apart from the v-turn, it really lacks flow.

I think you just found exactly the right way to describe what makes a track (or section thereof) good or bad
shame it's such a hard element to capture

    Unhappy

Very old topic guys, I know... but I have to!
[mylife]I used to be a WO addicted on my PS1... but far from being as good as you (I nearly cried when I saw Asa Qirex challenge on WO 2097 on youtube...).
After some WO HD races with a friend having a PS3... I caught again the WO virus... but I didn't play since years.
As I don't own a big TV and don't want a PS3, I recently bought a PSP with WO pure and pulse.
I only play pure now, until I finish it.[/mylife]

I hate Citta Nuova! I can't finish it without terrible pain on my big finger!
Yesterday, after 22 hours on WO pure (not in one day, since 3 weeks), I got all gold medals on basic Pure tracks + classic pack and after finishing the Ascension Tournament in Phantom (with an incredible and unusual first place at Citta Nuova!), I happily thought : "I won't have to race Citta ever again!"

... And I installed the Gamma Pack... and saw the "Descension tournament" :''''''''(( that's so unfair!!!!
