It's not the same as the original BSB, as you could press the START button to reset the lap in the original version.
That's what SL took out of the equation ... no longer able to do it.

Just as well ...it caused a hell of a lot of fallout at the time, I'd hate for old arguments to resurface and start off again.

Don't be too disheartened Charlie the tournament was an awesome idea. I think a large part of the problem like blackwiggle mentioned is maybe people who aren't members of Wipeoutzone or Wipeout Arena seeing something flash up on Facebook or twitter and commit without fully knowing all the details or just not bothering as they aren't a vested member of the Wipeout community as such. I'm not trying to sound elitest in any way, just what I think.

Maybe future tournaments could be slightly smaller scale ? Maybe only a singular game mode or maybe 2. Omnium is demanding, but you know, its all there in black and white when you sign up .

On to the speed laps !! Keep on racin

This BSB business has always confused me. Just to clarify, it's legal to use a boost juuuust before a lap begins?

Yeah that's absolutely fine, it's the standard technique for Speed Laps. Nobody's doing BSB by mistake, it takes a fair amount of practice to get right. I've never used it for any of my times, but I did play around with it for a bit, just to see what all the fuss was about.

As a matter of principle-and to improve my laps on Campaign mode-I got in the habit of absorbing my boost and relying on BRs and honing my side-shift skills. It made me learn the tracks better.
As for Charlie's concerns, I have plenty to say, but don't want to attempt to cover it all until I am on a computer. My smart phone won't make the cut this time.

Hellfire, Charlie, whatever you prefer us newbies calling you, thanks for organizing such a monster of a tournament. I've never participate in anything like it and it has kindled and undying passion for AG-Racing. It sucks another guy dropped out, but don't get demoralized. Ask some of us to help you organize the next one, to streamline it! This tournament (Although group one's eliminator felt like trying to rub a cheese-grader on your forehead) has been a blast. So keep your chin up.
As for the rest of you, absolutely fantastic racing and spirit on the track. I hope to race you all in the future again.

Another reason I love Omnium? I keep improving. I'm doing my best speed laps in a while, even though I should give up cause of that crazy fast Booney.

I managed to get 3 PBs on Speed Lap last night, and it was a fairly hurried attempt. Tonight won't be possible but on Thursday I have the place to myself, so I'll nail the rest of them then. I've got about 16GB of Elims uploading atm

@Hellfire, saw the first part round four on Youtube before a minute. And now I know who got the quakes the first races. Can't wait for the next uploads of the elimination round.

@group 6: It were great races with much fun, good luck for the speed laps.

I will be updating the spreadsheet with the Round 4 results tomorrow. I am genuinely depressed by how bare the results table looks...

Eleven in total, but I'm also looking at the number of DNFs all over the place in that round. I know it couldn't be helped in a lot of cases, but...

Sweet Jesus, you are not allowed to be depressed over a Wipeout tournament! I know this was huge work for you, and it's not panning out wonderfully, but...Don't make me come over there, Hellfire!
Just think, next round all the flops will be weeded out!

Wish I had better logic to cheer ya up, but hey...I'm not coming up with anything else...

Thats so sad to read Try not to let it get you down Hellfire. Theres still a load of us competing. Granted there has been drop outs and no shows, but you still have the solid fan base with you. Don't be sad

You can add attachments, but they have to be small.
File sizes are determined by the HOST
