Just kidding, I don't think I take etc either. Probably one of my only vices is chocolate (damn you hay!).

I started buying chocolate raisins a while back and seem to be addicted. You can a big 200g bag from Tesco for 60-70p (varies between stores). It says one of the ingredients is icing sugar, but I'm sure it must be something stronger. I offered some to a workmate at one stage and the next day he asked me to get him a bad. He ate them all in one sitting, just like I always did at first. Seriously think there's something addictive in them. Also, as much as I try to pretend they're healthy healthy fruity fruit, they're actually like 70% sugar just for the raisins.

I'm quite fond of Tesco's own brand confectioneries too, my favourite being the Tesco Value Roll, they have them at the local Tesco Metro for 13p each. You can tell when you eat it that its artificial, it has some weird uncakey consistency and is quite sticky, the cream in the centre is also a bit solid. I's still recommend them at that price though.

That reminds me of a guy I went to uni with. He would buy Tesco value mini pizzas for his dinner. I think he would get them reduced for 10p or something. They probably were good value, but I reckon there's more nutrition in a spoon of ketchup.

that reminds me, you can also put prunes/ beetroot in my recipe to make them moist. You won't taste the beetroot, don't worry. Yum.

one of the royales has a hermaphrodite kid - does it go ahead of or behind the son in the pecking order? behind - it is half boy and half girl, not all boy. ahead - it is boy, therefore = 1, and it is also girl = 1/2, add the 2, hey presto, it's crown-bound!

the above is designed to illustrate the absurdly accepted mysoginism that still prevales even today.

by the way, kick ass is ****ing superb. show's over, mother****ers

A week ago, I came up with a word that kind of appeared on a previous post to this thread:

Platinumize (verb): To obtain the Platinum trophy of a PS3/PSN game that has one. Example: "Those who platinumized Infamous are masters of that game." Other way of saying it is "Platinuming"

If you like the word, you can use it.

Copyrighted? I don't understand. Why create a word and then copyright it so that no-one can use it?

A friend of mine was going to start a clothing line , he copyrighted the word "LIFT" for the brand , about 4 months after doing so he got an offer from the Schweppes company who had a new lemonade style drink that they had been taste trialing, their marketing department had already decided to call it LIFT and had all the art work & promo stuff in the works....until they found out that somebody else had registered the name.
He got an offer that he couldn't refuse for the rights to the name.

I think that I'll just start copyrighting random words in the hopes that I'll end up in the same situation.

But does that mean that the word "Lift" is copyrighted, or the capitalised form, or the use of the word on that particular product? Surely people can't go copyrighting random words that already exist?

I've been using that word since I got my first platinum in September 2008

Don't people just use 'platted'? "Hey, I just platted Wipeout HD!" It's easier to type and pronounce.

Trademarks and Copyrights... ugh. It should only be a war between big corporations anywhow. I remember how a little pub was being hounded by KFC for some stupid naming of a dish.

A little funnier though: Remember that russian businessman trying to trademark a smiley face. ;-)

I don't know, but to me "Platinumizing" sounded better to me. As for the copyright thing, it was a joke and i edited my post by removing it a few minutes right after posting it.

I also apolagize(sic) for not knowing that someone else founded it before me.

You can get the totally over the top manufacturer who goes around suing people left right and center for the use of a word that has been registered as a brand name.
The worst example of this by far is a guy called Noel Lee who owns the MONSTER brand audio/visual cables company.
His numerous petty legal actions on other use of the word MONSTER have become the topic of many a thread in both Pro and consumer audio - visual forums, they have become so ridiculously and notoriously bad that lots of people now purposely avoid his products in protest.
    Servers the greedy sod right.

@OneAVGNFan I didn't know you had anything like that in your post. I was just thinking generally about trademarks and whatnot since people were talking copyright. Didn't mean to sound like I'm attacking/criticizing anyone. I suppose the word 'copyright' gets me all riled up due to examples such as mentioned above.

Which makes me wonder... an anime called Monster has been released on DVD recently... Uh oh.
