    Default PSP Go!!

    http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/30/ru...issue-of-qore/

    Finally, Sony has done something new with a psp. Lot of negative comments on joystick, but i actually quite like the way it looks. Not to mention that they will be (finally) releasing Gran turismo on this psp.
    I just cant wait

    It looks like . The only things that appeal to me are the internal memory and new Metal Gear being produced, and even then, it [The MGS] would probably be released on PSP - 3000's anyway.

    Wait, you say that GT Mobile will be released for PSP Go only? Or can it be played with all PSP's?

    It'll be on the store, so you, in theory, could try and download it.

    Looks like the design team has been off the internet for the past two years or so, because this concept made by ONE person who probably doesn't even work in the industry for this kind of thing looks tons better.
    Sure, there's still my problem with the triggers but for the form factor they were going for, it has much more functionality. And a 2nd analog stick.

    Jeez, the triggers on this pic are in the sky, man! I wouldn't go for that buy, buds, for sure.

    Actually, there are two "triggers", the little squarey things on the sides. L1 and L2. It actually has all the buttons of a PS3 controller.
    But I agree, the placement is still rubbish. Then again, PSP4k (Refusing to call it "Go", it's just stupid) has rubbish placement as well, so I'd prefer that concept personally even though I wouldn't buy it myself (PSP2000 5.03M33 ftw)

    I'm not too keen on the whole download only thing, I like having my UMDs. Game discs are the physical representation of the games you own and I'd miss that if they were gone. I doubt you'll be able to 'transfer' your UMD games to download either and I'm not going to re-buy Pulse and Pure. Maybe I'll be able to get a cheaper PSP-3000 sometime after this has launched.

    I'd like to see that too, but the Go! is on the same hardware as regular PSPs. They probably want to keep all games compatible on all PSPs. Maybe on the PSP2.

    There already a ****ing thread about this here;
    http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/sho...?t=6229&page=3

    Anyhow enough of me being a grump.

    PSP GO looks interesting.

    L and R buttons will be interesting. Be using the rear buttons on the base of your index figures, apposite to the end of your index figures like in the 1000,2000,3000 models.

    16GB will not last long if i had one, there should be a 32GB variant also.

    If Gran Turismo Mobile if a promotional feature for the PSPGO then it will highly probable it would not be a UMD featured game, but a game that is purchased directly off the PS Store. Im thinking that 1.8GB (UMD Dual layer maximum memory) wouldnt be enough to hold an Gran Turismo game. So thats the reason why its being put of release for half a decade.

    Im just thinking about it seriously....
    If this PSP GO has a sim card input in it, and can be used as a phone, then ill definitely purchase it, if it cannot be used as a phone, ill continue to use my quite reliable 1000 series PSP.

    If there'll be the phone and other shape and other proper button position, I'm going for it. Probably

    KIGO: your thread was question about memory sticks. This is really for PSP4k.

    There isn't any phone.

    Confirmed "features"
    -Lack of UMD drive
    -3.8" screen (Current PSP is 4.3")
    -Bluetooth support
    -16GB internal memory
    -Memory Stick Micro expansion slot
    -43% lighter than PSP3k

    If this can be used as a phone i will buy this.

    Other than if it is not, then i will not buy it.

    Looking forward to Gran Turismo PSP. Online on that would be pretty cool

    Pricing would be great for this.

    I can see $499 AUD at this rate. $399 it should be at max, since it only has 16GB on it.

    I love the marketing strategy Sony is doing here with the handheld market. **** them all, is more like it. Having both the PSP-3000 and the PSP-GO for sale syncronised with each other means sony can get a larger share into the market. Take more from the extremmly successful Nintendo DSi and the Iphone. I wonder if the specs are increased on this model too. More RAM too?

    No it wasnt.

    For people who didnt see the name of the thread i created last week, here it is again in size 7 font;

    "Random PSP questions and future developments"

    future developments, does mean future developments, not just memory sticks.

    Its in the Wipeout Pulse section of these forums.

    impact is better to get your point across

    And if you want to be right about the placement of this discussion, then your thread should be in Off-Topic D:

    Hmm...when I first saw the placement of the analog stick, I was like WTF? Then I thought about it...I have long fingers that always used to be cramped and uncomfortable with my original PSP (don't have one anymore) and this new placement (farther to the right) might alleviate that issue for me. Of course, if you don't have long fingers then you may understandably still be thinking WTF at the new stick placement LOL.

    The only thing I'm perplexed about now is that this PSP Go isn't replacing the PSP 3000...what the heck do we need two diffferent PSP's for???

    PSP Go says it doesn't have a UMD drive, but it has 16 gigs of internal storage with expandable capacity... The Go could be a way of Sony trying to bolster content purchases through their PSN store to be downloaded directly on the console. If it gains enough popularity, maybe their entire content-delivery system will be digital/electronic, and they may sh*t-can the PSP3k... UMDs are an added production cost.

    @LaP:

    Because some people won't like the new one.
