    Default My first video

Sorry guys. I promised you some video's last weekend, but something came up (missed Bling Brigade AGAIN!).

I've been working on my first video and it was a bit harder than i had in mind. i started recording Zone on Anulpha Pass, but there was just a little bit of lag while recording. That's why i only managed to get to Zone 45, while i normally finish anywhere between 65 and 75. My aim was a high quality video (no cam), so i hope it works out as i hoped it would.

The video is uploading now. The link will be added when it's finished.

WOW. I wish my skills were like that. Looks like i need to practice some more.

    Here's my video:

Quite a bad race because of the lag (looking back it's even worse). The quality looks good, but i'll try to upload an even better version tomorrow.

I'm surprised you didn't use your boost for the shortcut on that last lap of Chenghou R haydn.

Default let's see if this works...

OK. So I recorded some footage tonight to see if I could get the hang of this video technology stuff. I can now get stuff off the dvd but would appreciate if someone could download the video here from megaupload and see if it's sufficient quality and if it plays ok etc. It's nothing special, just a test. If it works I should be able to get some vids of a crazy tournament from tonight with Wellington86, Luxoflux and a host of brutal frenchmen.

Will be able to put them on youtube when I find the patience to wait that long.

Thats not something i often try. I try to hit a br sideshifting over that corner instead, and save my boost for later.

Granted however, that is a short cut i should practice till im comfortable with it. A sweet line and br would be nice.... at the moment im 50/50 at best just staying on the track.

SaturnReturn, I downloaded the video but there was only audio, no video. I might have done something wrong though...

I'm guessing you don't have the codec that saturnreturn used.

Try using a media player such as VLC (www.videolan.org) - if you haven't already. It plays just about every format under the sun without having to download codecs, and configure anything.

I haven't used it on PC for a while now - but I still use it for OSX, though. If anything, it probably got better since then.

If you're hearing sound but no picture (as stated above me) it's almost 100% certain you need the correct codec.

You can download codec packs for Windows Media Player - but I've seen so many people screw their systems from bad packs, improper installations or codecs that aren't actually codecs (if you catch my drift here) With my old age I'm lazy, and just want things to work out of the box, so I dumped fudging with WMP and TCMP.

The best codec pack ever. Even includes Media Player Classic (which, in my personal opinion, is better than VLC; but to each their own). I've put it on several systems without any issues. And, should you hate MPC, VLC or whatever, the codecs work with every player which use external codecs (WMP, for instance).

I doubt you did anything wrong. Had a hell of a time getting videos off my dad's camera. Then had a tough time getting them compressed decently.

I used VLC player to transcode the files from the dvd as I don't have any software for it on my PC. If anyone can point me towards the best settings VLC's transcoding feature then that would be most helpful. Otherwise I'll have to hijack the family PC tonight.

First one. Higher quality on the way if all goes to plan. I don't think people will be able to make out that you shoved me off the weapon pad (thus leading to my elimination in this one) Good times.

    Yes I can.
Encode in 720x480 for a high quality link to appear on youtube.

Anyone has tips to edit videos from high definition .MOVs? (1280x720)

Danterich, the "Impostor room"is in reference of the Avalon meeting over the weekend, there were numerous PS3 set up each with their own display in the same household, each PS3 had a forum member logged in under their name ,be it Kanar,Kaori or Asayyeah.....but each of these players moved to a different PS3 to play without changing names.
So you might of thought you were racing against Kaori when in fact you were racing against one of the other two.[Impostors]
