Currently compiling all the footage I have of the online and offline stuff for the Silver group, this is gonna be a MONSTER video. Still have Eliminator and Zone Battle to add and I'm already pushing an hour and a half!

I will submit my results as soon as I get home Hellfire! I regret to say that those attatchments I sent you were NOT in order...Im not sure what result is for what race. I'm sure Rapier or Ragsus has the results in order! I think I too might be done. Ive been playing the game for 3 years come March and I'm just not cut out to continue, dont get much gaming time these days and unfortunantly there might not be a reason to continue. This has been an amazing tournament however. Thanks so much for everything Hellfire!!

Charlie is it okay if I send you my times / scores tonight, but screenshots in the morning? I've got a few computer problems atm and it won't be easy to upload them tonight.

Hellfire_WZ
3rd February 2013, 08:03 PM
No problem. I'm uploading mine now and will send them to you ASAP.

I'm hoping there's going to be a massive glut of submissions in the next few hours, because I've only received a couple more since this morning...

Both we have the results, but I don't know if Rapier has sent them (most likely, he has). If needed, then I'll do so myself.

Also, it's a shame some people have the intention to quit the game, but honestly, this kind of thing may happen to all of us eventually. :(

Hellfire_WZ
3rd February 2013, 09:41 PM
Yeah, RR will send them through later.

Guys, the final deadline is in an hour and 20 mins! (unless you're behind GMT)

SoA_Booney
3rd February 2013, 10:40 PM
would like to thank the gold group, group 5 and everyone for the amazing hospitality throughout this event. indeed there has been problems, disconnects, gmt difference etc. but we kept going and has genuinely been my favourite wipeout experience. so far at least ;) big thanks to you charlie, keeping the pilots alive, if it wasnt for you the game would be on its last legs, thanks on behalf of everyone :)

3rd February 2013, 10:45 PM

UB3R~JKP
3rd February 2013, 10:50 PM
Well, all submitted.

It's crazy to think that the tournament is fully complete for me. What an absolute blast and I'd like to than both the Bronze finalists and of course Group 6 for the amazing fun I've had throughout the tourney. Regardless of the results I am more than happy with what I have gained through putting the time into the game. Lots and lots of fun!

Thank you so much, Community managers, Charlie and of course all the pilots.

Fly high guys!

Big thanks to you Charlie for taking the time and organizing this great tournament. This has given me some insight of the wipeoutzone community and i'm amazed of what a great community it really is!

Sorry for answering you so late Charlie, i checked the link yesterday and it worked.
I just sent you separate links for each part.

Would like to thank you a lot for organising this event too, a massive effort keeping the community alive!
It's been a while i didn't enjoy the game that much and i'm glad to meet some new friends all along the tournament.
I'll do my best to take part to the further events, see you soon all :)

Right I'm really sorry for the delay in collating the Silver and Gold results needed for Charlie to announce the winners. But yesterday was a nightmare of computer problems and other commitments. I'm just typing this on my lunch break, and I won't get a chance to send the results until this evening. So once again I'm sorry, I know I'm holding the whole thing up, just bare with me for a few hours. Thanks.

Can't wait for some online videos, guys, post them soon. So curious to see who'll win.
And again, thanks Hellfire. I got a chance to improve my Detonator (finally all Elite Gold in Fury campaign without any effort), my Zone Battle and my racing lines overall. I haven't been much of a racer to race with, I know, but I'll do better next time. Please tell me there's going to be a next time. :)

I think thats probably the most extensive tournament I've taken part in to date! It was a blast and I've developed a thing for Detonator mode...never used to like it. Thanks to Charlie for arranging all this it's no small effort mate! I'm glad I was able to help out and of course, take part!

Thanks to all the people I raced against it was great fun! See you on the track....and of course next time!

I'm nearly there with the scores etc. Miles you only sent me a score and not a final Zone for Metropia Rev mate. It's the Zone I need, sorry I've only just noticed. Also you've sent me Chenghou Zone, is this meant to be TDR?

Edit - Also you've sent me Talon's Zone, is this meant to be Sebenco? This one also doesn't have a screen so I can't see the final Zone. Your Zone scores are a bit of a mess Miles, I don't want to submit them until I know what's meant to be what.

EDIT - No offline results from Defjukie16 :(

Currently compiling all the footage I have of the online and offline stuff for the Silver group, this is gonna be a MONSTER video. Still have Eliminator and Zone Battle to add and I'm already pushing an hour and a half!

There is only one video I really want to watch from that SILVER meet.
The one where after Meesiash's 4th disconnect during Eliminator, it was either he or Liod-19 won the next Eliminator [I think it was Anulpha Reverse] in around, I kid you not, 15 seconds ..... it was a real WTF happened then for everybody?
I've never been in a eliminator that has finished that quickly.

Liod19
5th February 2013, 08:11 AM
Lol, that wasn't me. It was the one meesiash won after his lots of disconnections. I was far from winning that one.

blackwiggle
5th February 2013, 08:27 AM
I have a feeling that Messiash points from the previous Eliminator rounds sort of got stuck in his PS3's memory.
So when he eventually reconnected for the 4th time [after being prompted to shut down his PC that was throttling his bandwidth]... all his previous points from the past 3 rounds, before he got disconnected, all came to him at once at the start of the 5th round.

Not that it matters any.

Just another weird Wipeout HD/FURY Online occurrence :nod

Colonel - Yeah, I was confused on if the offline results were taken from our previous scores but before I knew we had to do the levels, it was too late. Sorry about that.

Kpop - congrats on your silver medal, I'm still disappointed in you, you should have been in the gold finals lol, you're the Kel Solaar of online WipEout right now and you're on top of your game, keep it up, one day kpop. :twisted

Congrats Booney, kpop and Ragsus! Well done!

Also, a special thank you to Hellfire for organizing such a grand tournament, and another thank you to the real gentlemen pilots I had the pleasure of racing (I don't think I raced any ladies, at least...).
I was quite relieved to encounter some very "sporting fellows" that were new names to me, as sometimes I think chivalry is dying everywhere, even here at the zone where sportsmanship has always seemed to be high on the priority list for many.

Thanks guys! :D

Woo-hoo-hoo!! I didn't expect I'd become the winner of our group because of the tough competition I (we) had. And I actually have reached the peak! :D

I want to say thanks to all of the contenders of my group, both Three and Bronze, and the entire tournament participants and the staff. It has been an honour to be there until the very end.
Also, thanks very much to Hellfire for putting a helluva effort into this. What would've happened without you?

We'll see each other in the tracks! :)

UPDATE: In the Time trial done in Modesto Heights, my time is 1:45.87, not 1:44.40. Even so, my final position in that round is still the same.

Hellfire_WZ
6th February 2013, 10:40 PM
Thanks a lot everyone, it did take an awful lot of effort to keep everything together. But it wasn't just me, I'd like to extend my thanks to the event managers for collating and communicating results to me. Without them, there's no way I could have run something of this scale.

I'm now in the process of encoding a 2 hour 20 minute marathon video of the Silver final, including all of my offline events ;)

SoA_Booney
6th February 2013, 11:14 PM
btw, i think the time trial scores for the gold group is incorrect xD i may be wrong but i think i should have 8 points, not that it matters, just something i noticed :P

Colonel
6th February 2013, 11:15 PM
Well, what a mission! Congratulations to Booney, kpop and Ragsus, thoroughly deserved winners. And thank you to everybody I had the pleasure of racing and chatting with this last month. This post is gonna be a long one...

Huge thanks of course to Charlie. I can only imagine how stressful this has been for you over the last few months. A ridiculous amount of planning must have gone into it before it even started. And then the running of the tournament itself must have put years on you. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that nobody else could have pulled this off, even if they were mad enough to try. So really mate, thank you, it's been a terrific achievement.

And thanks to all who took part, the effort that everybody has put in over the last few weeks has been superb. Personally I've loved doing such a challenging and varied tournament. There isn't a mode in HD that doesn't put a grin on my face, so it's been a pleasure to do it all in one event.

It's not without its regrets if I'm honest. And please don't take this the wrong way, I just need to get it off my chest. I'm not sure how to explain this, but I think I was just burnt out by the time the finals were announced. I hardly touched the game in the two weeks the finals were running, literally leaving everything to last Sunday. So I rushed through the Racebox stuff, and I know I didn't give a good account of myself.

To make matters worse, and this has happened many times before, I completely fell to bits in the online session. Races, Zone Battles, Elims, I was utter sh*te at everything, I had to fight the urge to quit half way through. The saddest part is I think I may have looked at the Gold final group and subconsciously given up. After the online session on Sunday I was positively distraught, I never wanted to play HD again.

So I'm a bit down with myself. I love this game, and Omnium has been the pinnacle of it in many ways for me. I feel like I took a place in my final group that could have gone to somebody who wouldn't waste it, and would've given it everything they had. Sorry, this probably sounds like the most self absorbed toss, and I haven't even had a drink.

Anyway, I really am very grateful to Charlie for all his hard work (not to mention patience). And I hope we get to do something this cool again.

Cheers,

Adam.

I agree with Colonel, thinking about racing against that gold lineup humbled me so much. And truly I don't think I deserved to be in the ranks of them, but I gave my all and really, I would love to race all of them again! It was absolutely fantastic flying against those guys. So congrats to Soa, kpop, and, Ragsus.

Soa_Booney, you are amazing. I should probably fall of Tech De Rah more if I want to win like you do. It was an honor, to race you.

onlykpop: You and I have raced a lot online, and you deserve every bit of the silver medal.

Ragsus_Maxima: I didn't get to compete against you, but congrats on the bronze medal. See you on the track.

And for everyone else who participated, winners and losers alike, thanks for keeping the game alive. It was a great experience and I hope to see all of you on the track again. Charlie, I cannot express how much good you have done this month, you have put a smile on my face every weekend seeing those results come together for everyone. You deserve the platinum medal (that I don't have) here, thanks. Thank you to everyone.

I don't care one bit if I came nearly last. I had tons of fun, and made some new friends along the way. With that, I'd say that this tournament was a huge success. Now, I think some thanks are in order!

-Hellfire, for all your fantastic work in making this happen, and sorting out the problems to keep it working. I know that it must have been a right pain in the arse at times, but you were able to pull through and make OMNIUM one of the largest successes I've seen in a long time!

-Group 8... all 3 of you, haha! In all seriousness, though, you guys are the most awesome bunch of people I have ever had the chance to meet. Racing against, no, no. Racing WITH you guys brought me to my first online WipEout experience, and it was absolutely fantastic, I loved it!

- BRONZE Group... all of 4 races I had with you, it was still awesome, racing with people all over the world, the one problem being those scumbag time zones (-_-)! Seriously though, I had lots of fun with you, and I usually don't have fun at 6am. You guys are brilliant.

-And to everyone else, through the wins and losses, disconnections after disconnections, and the murders in Eliminator(!), without you, you fantastic people in the WipEout community, without you, all of this would have never happened.

Final thoughts? If I had not decided to participate, I would not have met a brilliantly fantastic community like you guys, I would not have made friends like group 8: TheConzio, blackwiggle and Lazer0pz; goodonya, mates! But then again, I have made friends with all of you!

I leave you with a message to everyone, the entire community, participants, non-paricipants, winners and losers alike:

GG, EVERYONE. GG!

I am Ace3000, AG Systems pilot, and I thank you, wipeoutzone, for such a fantastic time I had participating in the OMNIUM tournament. Thank You.
