I'm about 10 events into the main campaign and haven't encountered any speed-lap events.

Pass the 2048 final and you get 5 tracks and C speed class
Pass the 2049 final and you get 3 tracks and B speed class
Pass the 2050 final and you get the 40 speed lap combos. 10 tracks in C, B, A and A+ speed class.

But if you have a friend who send you a Near Challenge, you can play it, even if you haven't unlocked the event or the ship.

Touch down at the right of the track and enter in the skill cut.

It's the key : if you widen your entrance, after the second jump with barell roll you often have a bad bounce that eject you on the wall. If you enter near the skillcut, the second jump with barell roll perfectly places your ship and you can jump more right and further. So you incredibly fast get in the hairpin !

I'm a novice in this forums and I'm actually having really fun with Wipeout 2048. At this moment I'm trying to get all the elite pass in the single campaign event, and I haven't already begun the A+ events.

This thread is something I would've liked so much some years ago, while playing Wipeout Pulse (beautiful game). Comparing the times and the scores with other people, though sometimes make you feel "slow", gives me a push to continue trying to improve my records and skills.

I would like to join you just to see how many seconds away I can stay, or, maybe, if I can try to get a little closer to some of the less skilled racers. Seeing your times in the speed laps would be great to compare with mine and probably will encourage me to continue playing.

It wasn`t what I'd call "intuitive" but I managed to find it!

Anyway... I thought my system was broken with that da**n ship! It only rotates with the lateral brakes? (L + R)
