@DialgiX
Same here. My IE8 browser was pristine until I installed Adobe Acrobat. Now it has a fracking toolbar that I don't seem to use and I feel is contributing to my "IE8 is not responding" problem.
One thing that grinds my gears is a "not responding" program on my single core computer.

I'll add to that - having a quad core monster (work PC), where the only program that properly utilises the multiple cores is an old FORTRAN based bit of 1D CFD software (with a really dodgy front-end) from all the way back in the 70s. It's always annoying when I get non-responsive office-type programs, only to hit ctrl+alt+delete and find that only 25 % of my processing power is being used.

Adobe products are notorious for causing other programs "this program is not responding" problems, especially internet browsers.
It's usually caused by them automatically searching for updates, well Adobe says it's for updates, but those in the know say it's checking to see if it's pirated software, and that the way they have implemented this searching can and does conflict with any and all of the following, Both McAfee [especially] & Nortons security software, IE browsers security, Firefox add-on's [need to visit Firefox site to fix]
They are an absolute pain to uninstall as well, you usually find that you have to go to the Adobe website to get specific instructions on how to get rid of the bloody things, as windows "Add/Remove Software" won't get rid of them completely, and even then you'll PC won't be the same as they would of messed your registry up, which in turn stuffs everything else up to the point where your PC get really really slow at boot up especially.
Great products for the most part when working properly, but they can freeze up a PC and make it so slow that only a complete system reinstall will get things back.

Any warranty the console had has surely passed - may as well go nuts figuring out how to get the pretend money out/hacking your console to bits.
As long as you can put it all back together again I imagine it should be fine and still tradeable.
Still, it has to suck when you have no intention of doing all that! :P

Seeing people get emberrassed for being real dumb asses
trying to proof something to me on ebay a day ago. A seller trying to deny me a refund. On a movie. The beautician and the beast.
The item was claimed BY THE SELLER as new, like new.
No scratchs, scuff marks nothing.
ME THE BUYER RECIEVED A "Has scratchs, scuffs, and won't play worth a god damn!"
So i filed the case on ebay buyer protection.
Now the person running their mouth like a hateful kkk ( ku klux klan ) member trying to do a hate ralley.
What worse on grind my gears. They seem to have poking around on my facebook and myspace trying to know my life.
They call that stalking!
I call it dead meat if you want to go that far.
Its just a ****ing dvd.
All i asked is a refund or a replacement.
No. You want to run off and flame, give hate, and be nasty about it.
Im nasty too! When it comes to making love with a women tho...
But other than that.
My gears are grinding that whatever ebay says. Hey i get my money back. This hoe either takes back their shitty dvd or do something.
Cause i also got some new orders in from ebay for wipout 3, wipeout xl. What conditions the sellers said they were in?
The same words "like new" and a new one "good".
Ok wipeout xl is scratched the **** to hell, but it plays...
Doesn't mean i am satisfied
wipeout 3?
Extrememly shows how somebody used a cd cleaner/repair kit. Cause the whole disc is like somebody can't buff and wax and clean a floor with those tools n more.
But it plays.. It plays for now. But every music track on there won't even get pass the first 25 secs or counting beats of the every track.
Listen to a repeat of sashas xpander. Repeating the first 20 secs over and over and over.
You would go motha ****ing crazy!
But hell.
My grinding gears for now...

I managed to take the ps3 apart last night, I peeled the material back that is on the disc tray opening and got it out. I gave it a clean and seems to be running a bit smoother. I would of thought that by removing the sticker it may of reduced the price of any trade in offer. I might give them a ring later on and see.

nutcase!
get off your ass and keep trying to get a job that is with your qualifications or that the years of education you spent to get the work.
unless you didn't spend some of the time getting experience. then don't just sit their with your guitar. and get the experience!
their must be some programs made to help you get experience and right it off as 5 years exp instead you really had a year.
and the only person in here. who has right to grumble like the scrooge and grinch.
is ME!
what will grind my gears more.
a person stops at something. like that someone up here. because of the words "no, sorry we can't see you here" and "thank you but we are looking for someone qualified"
never stop. its like getting rejected by a woman. than when u get rejected. you cry and feel sorry and bad. and don't go get another woman for more than 5 years. not months not even days.

Another thing that grinds my gears:Horror films with implied gore that you see for almost the majority of the film which thoroughly disgust you.
Gore in 300 is not so disgusting.Strangely,I find it...funny
The film that I am talking about is The Human Centipede:First Sequence.
Click here if you want to know more about the film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Human_Centipede)
I recently got into a "sucky" life(stupid bullies,my class, mockery and stuff).I was introduced to this film by my 13 year old younger brother.I read that there would be a sequel titled"The Human Centipede II:Full Sequence",which would have 12 people in a centipede(Good Grief)
Because of my bro introducing to me this film.I feel like writing the script for "The Human Centipede III:Full Sequence 2.5",having a centipede with around 30 people and featuring almost everyone in my class except me,which is a good thing for me and a bad thing for the "featured" ones.

I think I have got a newly acquired ghost in my flat :eek:eek
I came home from my 3rd day at my new work last night and I find that my lounge room window was open, I hadn't been burgled.
I'm 6 floors up and there is no way anybody could of climbed in through it unless they repelled down the side of the building, and I know I didn't open it as it's been bloody freezing in Sydney.
Then I started playing wipeout online last night and I suddenly hear the sound of water running in the bathroom, so dropped my controller and I ran to check out what's happened and there's no tap on, nothing, go back to the game, race starts then the same happens again, still no tap running but this time the bathroom floor is wet, but unless the water was scooped out of the toilet or sink which was empty, there is nowhere from where the water could of come from.
It wasn't a leak from the flat above.
I've woken up this morning and both things have happened again during the night, and I'm the only one here.
Very strange and unnerving.

Instead, I'm going to send it to the folks at gophermods.com, who specialize in this type of thing and perform the YLOD repair for $69.99 with a 24-hour turnaround time and 60-day warranty. So, I should be back up and running soon!

I've purchased all of my Playstation consoles at launch (PS1, PS2 & PS3) and this is the first that's ever died, so this is a new experience for me. Hey Dj, i feel your pain man. Check this out.
When i was 10, i had this abscess under a molar and this lame-ass dentist decided it had to go anyway, right here right now. Being so young i didn't know that a tooth with an abscess can't be anesthetized. At that time, i told my mom she didn't had to be there in the dentist room anymore, so it happened while she wasn't there to object the surgery.
I faced the most horrible pain ever of course. I screamed my lungs out while the ****er was doing his thing, and my mom rushed in the room, all freaked up. The lame-ass dentist then told her in private that it was only a hard-ass tooth to remove, but everything was fine. She was pissed but said ok. We left.
Couple of days later, i remember taking a walk with my dad to a local restaurant on a very warm day. I dunno if the heat played some part in it, but at some point i felt i was about to pass out and i told my dad just before it really happened. I woke up in the restaurant's rest room, not knowing what the hell happened. My dad told me my lips and fingernails were blue when i fainted... We went to the hospital to have the doctor who checked me stating i had blood poisoning, due to the pus and bacterias flowing out of the wound in my mouth, infecting my body. I could have died, nothing less.
Today i got a fear of dentists, and i wait until its critical to go see one. I'm stupid i know, but it's hard to fight against something so dreadful that happened to me :( And this always grinds up my gear...

Actually, I think it's unlawful practice to not use any anaesthetic without any good reason on somebody when they're so young, I had one of those about three years ago, I could have had it, went rambo style. :twisted The most hurtful thing is that I couldn't really eat for a few hours. :( I don't know how things are in Canada, but that would borderline child abuse without any anaesthetic.

last night this racial, harrassing cop named Major Jonus, who runs south congaree police dept as assistant chief. came inside the gas station i hang out after work from the video store...
go figure this sounds like a Clerks movie scene ( convient store/gas station and a video store next to each other and the two clerks know each other )
any way!
he walks in and say's "Techno Long! haven't seen you since i last put you in jail"
Yeah hes a racial Dick!
but after that when me, laura the girl who works there and another person were talking about what is a crime somebody got inside jail for having sex inside their cell. This was two women having sex in their cell. They were caught.
So i said the best explanation and simpliest way of explaining the charge the two woman got that the jail and news paper reported it in.
"They were caught ****ing inside their room lol, yeah what kind of charge is that when caught doing that"
Then Jonus walk past me and ask what did i say.
and get this. his hands were on his hand cuffs, ready to lock me for nothing.
so i changed what i said. "they were caught having sexual intercourse"
I said Sexual Intercourse, what kind of wild stuff is that!
Jonus tells me "good, thats what i thought you said don't swear again"
I looked at him walking away, told Laura what the helll that stupid hating, fake ass marine, motha ****er said. Laura said "thats some bullshit! I curse all the hell i wont and even infront of him and he don't say nothing"
Freedom of Speech.
When ass holes like that cop try and harass you from saying whatever the hell you have to say. Try and make you be tempted to shoot them dead with their own gun. Because they want to mess with my rights and freedoms. And they can't do nothing about it unless I start the provacation, trouble etc. oh and guess what in south carolina you can **** all you want. But don't say **** you to a cop. Then it might put you in handcuffs.

Well DJ, that does sound crap. I'd say you did the sensible thing though - dude's probably not worth it.
What's grinding my gears right now is, having gone into my work email account to forward an email, finding out that my company will be having another round of redundancies. I think this is the 4th in 18 months or something (maybe 2 years), and this time there will be 600 redundancies of permanent staff, with no-one being exempt. Sucks!
I think this is all happening now because a job of ours just got axed. It was a massive job for a whole new development in the middle east, and about 500 staff were working on it, with another 500 offering support roles, I think. Something like that anyway. Now, the government in the client's has decided that they just don't want to do it any more, so all of a sudden a hell of a lot of people have no work. The whole job was controversial to start with, and now this. Seems like a case of putting far too many eggs in one basket, and now there's a massive gaping hole in the basket.
Well, fingers crossed I'm one of the ones that survives. This comes just as I was starting to enjoy the job a bit more - bad times.:(

What grinds my gears?
The new, "improved", Dante from the freshly announced "DmC". Such a terrible design choice - it's a completely different character - they should have just made a new game entirely without the Devil May Cry association at all if this is the best that they could come up with. I know Dante was always flamboyant, but this kid is more hot topic wannabe than self styled badass.
Another weird thing is that in most of the screens I've seen, his head looks like a 90 year old's with a black toupee.
There was literally no need to redesign the character in the first place. I just don't get it. And making him a teen? He was probably 18-22 in DMC3 - the game he acquired devil trigger in - so there won't even be a staple gameplay element in the new game. I'm having a hard time believing this will be a real DMC game. It doesn't fit in the slightest.

I, as well as 2 other Beta Trialist are on the verge of deleting LBP2 Beta because of MAJOR system crashes.
Awesome game, but the BETA trials problems aren't worth the risk of console breakage IMHO

What's grinding my gears right now is that the 2010 AFL Grand Final has ended in a draw. That means that everyone's got to pack up and come back next week and do it all again.
But what a bloody tense 5 minutes it was before the siren sounded, everybody watching it, wherever they were, would have been on the edge of their seats!

Why?It was quite late already(11pm) and I was going back home from a wedding dinner with my family. Taxis keep getting jacked by people.I was really relieved when we finally got a taxi and got home.

Oh. Spoiler. Living in the U.S. on broadcast, I don't get to see the GF till Monday evening. Good thing it was a draw.
Now I get to see two GFs this year! I'm pulling for the Saints, as usual.
AFL is the best football on the planet. In my opinion.

Sorry about that Lance, kinda ruined the suspense there didn't I? Still, hope the Saints can pull off a win, it seems now that it's the whole of Australia (and some parts of the world) vs Collingwood!
Also, Melbourne's been plunged into some sort of chaos following the draw. Everything from flights and accommodation, even to other events and peoples' holidays have been changed or even cancelled because of this. Any Melbournians with any ground gears over this? :D

My cat used to do something similar, he'd run up to you and lay down on the floor right in front of your feet to get attention.

I'm fuming. Desperate to help my girlfriend with her problem at work but i don't know how.
She works at a Dry Cleaners -- Its just her, one other girl (a known theif), and her two bosses (who are also best friends, nasty pieces of work and big time slags, so yeah, classy women) so when a problem arises (ruined clothes etc), they insinuate that its Chelsea (my girlfriend) every time. They recently lost some contracts with hotels (the majority of their work) because of their incompetence yet said it was Chels.
More serious than that; Chelsea's purse recently went missing from the spot where she has always left it and their responce was "anything could have happened to it", as its a business "within friends" as it were she hasnt had her contract renewed, and we think that they've illegally put her wages down without telling her, and suspiciously she hasn't recieved her payslip in the last 3/4 months either. We went hunting for the old ones and realised their totally illegible and just don't add up.
With the current economy and such she cant just quit as finding another job could prove difficult.
All I can think of is insist they write her up a new contract because at the moment she doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Personally I hope she can find another job soon so I can bowl in there and tell them to sort their fu*king lives out. :bomb

Possibly the weirdest thing ever, and yet I just have to kind of shrug it off. Completely baffled by this.:? It's actually more the lack of communication in my family that grinds my gears. But still, it's pretty freaky.

(Quick tip for jasmin - there's more than one channel.:P)
Stupid rule of the day number one:
I'm required to work on a job in Toronto. My overall rate is less than half the rate of anyone else on the project because of our comparative low salaries in the UK. However, I work in (and from) an office in the middle of London, UK. My overhead rate is therefore high. Toronto's decision makers have a rule that no-one can work on their projects with an overhead greater than X %, while mine is X+30 % or so. So even though any one of us from the UK is ridiculously cheap compared to an employee of comparative grade in Toronto, and even though I'm literally the only person who can do this work now, because everyone else (from the UK) got sick of it and left, or was made redundant (from the US), I can't be mobilised for the job. How daft! Quite why the client has to know our overhead rate anyway is beyond me. Makes no sense.
Stupid rule of the day number two:
I was refused a take-away hot chocolate from the office cafe today, because apparently they can't do take-away drinks after 4pm. They can, however, do free drinks. To have the drink for free you simply have to drink from a proper much and sit at the cafe. If you takeaway, it costs £1. So even though they people that run the cafe would make money from simply pouring the hot chocolate into a paper cup instead, and even though I would take the drink away and carry on with my work, instead of wasting half the day in the cafe like some tartlets do, they won't let me do it, and without any actual reason at all. How daft!
It's no wonder the world is in a recession. Apparently people can't make money any more because some toolbar went and made up some daft rule that makes everything more costly and wasteful. OK, so the paper cup would be wasteful compared to a reusable mug, but I'm pretty sure the dishwasher being used for the few mugs at the end of the day wouldn't be much better.

I suppose getting your own kettle is out of the question? :P
SaturnReturn
17th November 2010, 10:51 PM
It's proper hot chocolate. No kettles involved. ;) I've wanted a kettle at work for a long time because our hot water comes from zip taps, and isn't actually boiling. But if I bring a kettle it would have to be electronically checked for health and safety. Someone would probably also complain it wasn't sustainable. Irony is that the zip taps spew water out far too quickly anyway, and despite not being hot enough for making good tea, it's hot enough to scold. It wastes heat too, because the water isn't hot enough, so the tea needs brewing longer, which means it gets cold quicker. So, I have to warm the mug up first with hot water, and then refill with fresh water it to make the tea. Essentially, I have to use two mugs of near-boiling water and risk a scolding instead of just using a freakin' kettle. Then there's the water you have to run off in the mornings because it tastes nasty when coming out of the tank first thing in the morning, for some reason, plus the wasted heat lost form the tank to the air. I'm sure a simple little kettle large enough for two cups would work out better as long as everyone were sensible. Given that we're all supposed to be intelligent engineers, it shouldn't be too hard. All I want is a tasty hot beverage and to get on with my work. Incidentally, the zip taps broke at one point and we did have a kettle for a few days. It was glorious!

It was a Trojan which had infected one of the main drivers that the system needs to remain stable upon start-up. Everytime I logged on a bunch of pop-ups would appear and the Anti-Virus would go crazy. It'd be fine for 2 minutes then go to the blue screen and crash.
So I had to re-boot the computer in Safe Mode which effectively runs the computer with the bare minimum resources that it needs. Because everything else was disabled, the virus couldn't activate so I was able to do a System Restore and effectively go back in time with the computer to before the virus came along.
After that, I was able to log on normally but there were still a few issues and I could tell that the virus was still there. So I proceeded to run the Anti-Virus (McAfee) however it kept turning itself off everytime I tried to run it (the virus was probably doing that.)
So I checked for any updates with the Anti-Virus and installed the new one. This allowed the scanner to stay on and let it do its business. I ran a complete full scan of the computer and 4 hours later the virus was gone. Let's hope that's the end of it and I don't get any more nasty surprises.

That's why I gave Norton the flick. It would sit there and hog all of my system resources basically bringing the thing to a crawl. "You don't need to use your computer, you'd probably run into more viruses that way! By the way, I'm just going to scan now, don't try and stop me, because you can't!"

Problems occurring with McAfee [rare for me] are usually related to using FIREFOX with add-on's.
Their was one a while back that I had that had exactly the same problem as you mention, it was a free Adobe Add-on but cause crashes due to a conflict between OS/McAfee/Firefox, had to restore from Safe mode as well.

I no-one else equally annoyed by the tactics used by the police and the way the media portrays things?? It's always difficult to know what the true story is but I can't help but feel like this whole 'kettling' thing is probably one of the main causes of a lot of this trouble. There always seems to be a bad element at these things, i.e. people ready to start trouble and something like kettling just gives them an excuse to do just that. I could understand if it were just used to direct a protest in a certain direction, but just blocking people in and forcing them to stay there is only going to make those people result to force themselves.
Also, it seems a bit hypocritical for society in general to condemn Gilmour's actions. People revel in their drunking/drug-fuelled antics all the time in this country, as if it's somehow a positive thing, and often far worse than this. But some guy swings on a flag while too off his head to realise it's significance, whether on drugs or just adrenalin, and everyone condemns it in an instant, when the chances are that a decent proportion of them have done equally ridiculous things.
People also swallow the media's guff with things like this. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence will realise that most of the trouble will be a result of thugs, but journalists sell more papers if they can paint a negative picture of the country's youth and blame a specific part of society for it. So they still refer to anyone causing trouble as a student, when those who are true students and actually want to learn, will more than likely be the sensible ones who just want to have a say. Not to mention that fact that no-one has reported anything about what the fees rise means in real times. There are no accounts of what the cost of a typical course at universities at various levels are estimated to actually cost. All I see is £9,000 per year. So of course, everyone will see that and realise they can't afford it, but will there be cheaper options? Can't even say because no-one has tried to tell us.
Also, why shouldn't anyone march, even if they do have enough money to pay the fees? Plenty of people will have already been to uni but can still protest if they want. The worst thing about all this is that those worst affected didn't even have any say about it in the election. This whole thing screws over young people, who've been led to believe that an education is the only/best way for them to get a shot at a decent life, and then told they don't deserve it, all because of the crap decisions that the generation before them has made in the name of greed, after receiving their own education for next-to-nothing in comparison.
I guess the only thing this proves is that a vote for the Lib-Dems really is a wasted vote. What a shame.

Kind of in two minds about the car thing. I don't think they were right to do that, because, although the public paid for the car, that only means the public will be paying for the damage. So they're basically smashing up my car - cheeky beggars.:P Plus, the cars wasn't empty. I think at the point where you attack individuals that's too far. However, I haven't seen how that window was smashed. I saw the paint on the car in the video, which I have no issue with. I read Camilla may have been poked with a stick, or that someone may have touched her through the window. Terrible really, as I expect the stick totally didn't match her outfit and being touched by a commoner probably devalues her diamond necklace immensely. But nothing as to how the window was smashed. In the video I saw the reporter mentioned the noise of the smashed window as the car drove through, but I couldn't actually see any damage, except in a still photo later, which might not even have been the same car for all I know. Anyway, the whole thing is far from one sided. The government have gone too far on this, it would seem, and so did the police. Since when is a shield and a massive baton a measured and proportionate response to someone shouting? All in all I think it's a terrible shame. Despite extreme actions, nothing good has come of it. All that's left is damaged property, a further damaged image of the country's students and youth, of politics and the police, and probably a fear for many that they won't even want to go near a protest in the future. I never go to the Christmas party but always to the lunch. They used to do these spoof awards, which were fun. But now they do those at the party. Last year all that happened at the lunch was a short "Happy Christmas" speech from our group leader. This year though, no-one said anything at all. It's a real non-event. I encountered hackers while playing Pulse and certainly didn't play it online as much as you do, MrSmadSmartAlex. It's rather poor form to claim they don't exist...especially since a couple of those hackers have even shown up here and bragged about their "clan". Losers exist. It's annoying. The end. Bom will eventually move on from Pulse, I'm sure, or switch to passworded games with friends only.

Medusa, I wasn't trying to offend anybody (sorry if I did) or deny that Pulse has had hackers ruining the game, but I think that that must have been something that was around before I got the game. Maybe they came back or something (I haven't played in a few months), but I was online so much in 2009 and much of 2010 that I'm sure I'd have seen at least one if they were still about. What I have seen often though, is players accused of cheating just for being fast (including in the "Online Meetings, Pulse" thread, minutes after the post in this thread), and I've been accused of it too before. It could be considered quite insulting, especially after you've put hundreds of hours into learning the game. But rather than get my gears ground over it, I just don't take it too seriously. And I did ask Bom who they were, in case it actually was some random hacker, rather than a legit player who I'd know.

If someone's willing to 'discard' you for some gain for themselves then they probably weren't a friend in the first place. Better off without them. When it comes to friendships I'm starting to think maybe we just have to not expect to much from people and try to remember the reason we're friends with them in the first place so that we don't end up 'discarding' them for small things before they get a chance to show more good things about themselves. Just a(nother) random thought there.

@ FEISAR - the point is that anyone like that is not your friend. It seems that perhaps these are just people who you happen to be around, possibly due to school? I'm guessing at this so forgive me if I'm wrong. Maybe you should try some new things and to meet some new people. You have lots of time to make friends. I don't have many IRL, partly because I have been so cynical, sarcastic, and generally lacking faith in people. If this forum shows you anything then hopefully it is that there are people who share interests with you. You have time to potentially meet similar people around you and eventually develop a close group of friends. This would be far more beneficial than a large group of people who you constantly have to sacrifice a part of yourself to get along with. It won't happen straight away, but perhaps it's something to aim for rather than regretting the situation you are in now. A lesson I'm only just starting to learn myself, at almost twice your age.

I'd like to ask you for a bit of lenience with us non-native speakers in this case. we mostly learn phrases like that from movies and chatting online. Both of which (see this is another example I dont know if this phrase really works but have heard it used before) are places where grammar and proper spelling (or wording) are secondary to getting a message across.
So please dont be too annoyed at us for making these mistakes
Oh but you can be as annoyed as you like about native-speakers making them, or at least I cant speak in their defence, or would know how to defend it.
Flint Fandango
5th January 2011, 06:22 AM
Oryx is right, it is actually more difficult for people whose native language is not English. I have learned English in school, but that was years ago ... and many special terms or expressions are unknown to me at all.
I read a lot of english literature, but before I signed up in the zone, I simply had a lack of practice. Therefore, I beseech you, be lenient with us.
The interesting - especially in Germany - is, that a lot of anglicisms are embedded in our vernacular. A lot of people in our country even prefer to swear in english! It sounds pretty cool for them, and they´ve learned it almost from movies, I guess. Furthermore, there are many terms here that are used only in english. A tribute to a wonderful language!
Therefore, it grinds my gears, that I´m not as good in english as I could be!
Nutcase:259

When you use words like 'beseech', 'anglicisms' & 'vernacular' i don't think you have anything to worry about language wise Flint ;)

@Oryx and Flint
Your English is very good though; better than most native speakers. ;)
It seems that people who learn English as a second language usually make an effort to learn it properly (Darkdrium speaks French as his first language, I think). It's nearly always people who speak English as their first language that do these things (which encourages others to do them too), which is why it can be irritating! :lol
But yes, getting a message across is most important.
edit: Nutcase, it's that "one of the only" should be "one of the few" (simplest way to correct it), so don't worry, the song can remain intact! :D
I consider it a very minor error, but it's not technically correct to say it.
Darkdrium777
5th January 2011, 12:38 PM
I posted that because I go to a game forum where technically it should be only US-Americans (and Canadians) posting there and they all say "I could care less" when in fact it's "I couldn't care less" that they mean. They all do! It annoys me to no end because I want to reply to each and every single one of them that they just said they care a bit about whatever they actually don't care about!
Anywho is another one that drives me up the walls. I'm guessing most of you have heard of "hotforwords" on Youtube. Yes, it's most likely that her fans don't watch her because she's a self proclaimed linguist. But ok, let's say she is a linguist. She said anywho?!? ****!

Thank you mr Alex :) I do know that I make mistakes though especially with idiomatic expressions (cant speak for flint on this one obviously) and well all I'm saying really, and this goes to darkdrium too, is: Remember that if you see these mistakes on here it could be because, for some of us it's a problem of just not ever having known whats the right way to say these things as we have never been exposed to the language in that everyday setting (even if I do agree that "could care less" sounds bloody stupid when you consider what the words actually mean) not the way you guys have.
As for that other forum darkdrium they are native speakers in a sense, so be as harsh as you like, I certainly wont defend their right to violate their own language out of ignorance.

I like "annywho". I'm always having to hold back on that one because I use "anyway" a lot, when preparing to sign off. In general I think language doesn't annoy people if someone makes a mistake, but it does if people are using it wrongly while thinking it's correct, especially if it makes no sense, i.e. the "could care less" thing.

MetaKraken, Homework may seem like a chore, but its the key to your future!!
Theres nothing wrong with microwaving milk.. its Re-heating thats bad! reheating any dairy product will give u loose stools haha! So get a mug of nice cold milk, heat it up and then leave it on the side for an hour.. then reheat and enjoy!! Thats why most babies always sick white and fill there nappies and constantly cry! because parents constantly reheat the milk in luke warm water and over feed them with bacteria ridden milk leaving them with stomach-ache all night... no sleep for mommy.
Spitting is bad but there is 1 good use for it :p But for sports people spitting is a must, your mouth gets so gloopy you cant swallow it! it just comes back up and that leads to constant swallowing which leads to a sore flemmy cough. But in sport there should be a spit bucket like in boxing...

Thats because in other sports they only work in short bursts... i see it all the time in mma and track & field events but its been diluted, literally! they have there water bottle and rinse there mouths out... footballers do this too but they have to wait until half time or when an injury occurs! spitting would of been banned other wise.
But i agree that its disgusting and il leave it as that, dont spit unless your prepared to sit in somebody else's.
