Well, from a perspective of which controller hurts your hands the least after long hours of intense play, the 360 controller is the best I've seen as well. As much as I love the Dualshock design, I do get sore fingers sometimes.
I have to agree, the XBOX 360 is very good, followed by the Wii (Yeah I know) and then Dual shock.
I really wish they made some comfortable adjusts to the shell of the controller.
Sore fingers with the DS? Come ooon are you some sort of pussy? I can sit and use it all day, sore fingers???
It's not like it's an issue really, just something I noticed occasionally
And there is one thing that ultimately redeems the DualShock and will forever set it above the Xbox controller - four independent digital directional buttons. Try playing Guilty Gear XX on Xbox and you know what I'm talking about. The Xbox digicross is CRAP.
oh, look, I found the original topic of this thread! It's over there there there there
We do have a separate thread for discussing controllers. Um... somewhere......
G'k wrote "You do see one now. To me, rumbling fingertips are among the most useless things I've experienced in the last years of video and computer gaming. Not that I believe anyone agrees with me, but still... "
I do, never liked rumble really, it's distracting for me, but I like the controller heavier as well, so I would prefer the rumble one if you can turn it off. Although, I may need to pick up the weirdest controller out there for the ps3 to be different Maybe I will play with a keyboard / mouse
you might be interested in the Splitfish FragFX
unfortunately amazon won't ship them straight to NZ, otherwise I'd order one.. first person shooters that don't support keyboard and mouse are one of the ever decreasing number of reasons to keep a gaming PC around.. I am incapable of playing a shooter with a controlpad
.
Could we get back on topic, please, gentlemen?
.
WipEout HD looks awesome and I'm buying a PS3 for it. Now Lance, make a time machine so it is May.
My time machine only jumps 11 years from the future back to the present and back again. You should see the previews I'm seeing. WOW!
But back to the present: The previews for HD do look really spectacular, but I just can't justify the purchase of a PS3 now, and possibly never. For me it would be a choice between a PS3 and a new desktop comp, and the desktop would win.
The discussion of the HUD worries me, too. I wonder if I could even stand to play the game.
quoted for accuracy. But back to the present
To handle a harddrive of 80GB or more.
PS3 can do that, too! AND it plays wipEout HD!
edit: on a sidenote, where do you get 80 gig of data from - certainly not from your 56k internets, no?
I've downloaded far more than that, but already years ago I had to offload stuff onto CD-ROMs, which were such a pain that I would never want to do such a thing again even with BluRay, but my biggest drive that works with the old computers is a 46 GB and that one is failing. I have a Western Digital 80GB, but can't use it with either of my antiques.
But back to the thread subject.
I assume you used to have a faster internet connection once? Because 80gig download takes roughly 132 days of straight downloading!
Assuming you only use the internet for downloading about 8 hours a day, that's more than a year of doing nothing but leeching stuff!
I've been online for eleven years; no such average need be maintained. I've never had anything but dial-up.
----
I repeat, please get back on topic gentlemen. That's my second request today.
Justifications for a wipEout HD-loaded PS3 purchase:
1) blu-ray just won, so stay sexy with the new discs.
2) More wipers playing wipEout HD will mean Swift412 will get lonely on his PSP and have to buy one.
3) Metal Gear Solid 4.
4) GRADIUS SIX!!!!!!!
5) It's a free online network.
6) Copying me is a sure way to succeed, and I'll have one.
7) You're doing well in life, time to reward yourself!
