I agree, enough cheaters on pulse (not that anyone here would do that..), I feel the change too - I miss the the glory days on kai... I wonder if people still have it installed or if they deleted it.....I hope I'm still ace, I haven't played since the tournament at Al's.

I've never got it to work with the PSP Wifi Max so don't count on me.
Still have the dongle, but not the drivers, and the company who made it is dead, so it's a no deal for me.

I've got the WiFi max here as well, drivers that suppourt X-link kai are out there, version 6.20.8 if I remember properly...

EDIT: just setup kai and my wireless adhoc card on my desktop-pc - connects to psp and everything looks as it works. I believe that I am good to go.

I am so much longing for the Friday sessions... those times on kai are precious moments. aslo, playing pure is much more fun.

problem is, for the moment I have no possibility to play online.

i wanna play, ive been playing alot of pure lately getting good at it got all gold on phantom, but i cant get my psp to connect to x-kai with my wireless card

EDIT: also, they seem to have changed it up a bit. You'll want to enter the wipeout room under /Arena/PSP-Japan-Korea-China, I could not find a wipeout arena in the normal PSP arena (I think they changed the name of the old psp arena to PSP-Japan-Korea-China and made a new PSP arena that tries to group games by genre...but fails to be effective as they have left some out.)

That is essentially what has prevented me from getting it to work. Ever. Kept following the guides and all, but no, it would never work. Strange considering the PSP Wifi Max is the recommended device to use with Kai for PSP... :/ Long story short, I tried about ten times for a few months, and then forgot about it. The ****ing program never worked. Sure it installed all right. It even said the network was reachable. But try to join a room and chaos ensues...

The most trouble I've had with it (aside from initially wrapping my head around the concept) is getting it to work in linux - now there's a headache.

Well that was a fun time - very nostalgic

Oh yes , it was a PURE pleasure to meet with Dag my fellow old Xlink Kai-ers.

That has started pretty badly for me : my DWL is no more compatable with the new Windows XP3 ( it's not the only one peripherial i got suffering from that new sp3 ...)
So i needed to use wifi Max dongle and change the set up from infrastructure to ad hoc but my driver was outdated, RR gave me who almost worked but not , eventually found the right one and everything did worked like a charm.
We played with Romano , RR, Sox and Ben.

The beginning was a bit difficult ( time to adjust lines and feel Pure better) but after a few moments it was like yesterday.
I even beat records but to tell you the truth i was using CFW ( ohhhh that is bad asa !!! ) i know , i know , but here's my excuses : thursday RR asked me about that kai friday session i said why not but i ll have to find a new euro Pal ( mine was left at Al's place), friday afternoon looking for a euro umd : 4 game shops : no games ! i went to Dag's place and dumped his own umd to put it through my 2nd psp.
At the beginning i played at default settings then in the middle of the session i switched to 333, just to realize if difference there was ...
Ask RR you ll have your answer ! he was stunned ...and me too !!

Next week i promise to find a true umd guys for the come back of our historical friday Kai sessions!

Btw Xavier, we shall talk about your wifimax problem through msn, maybe i can help?

Yeah that would be awesome if you helped to make it work, I never was able to manage on my own ^^
I also dumped my PurE NTSC UMD onto my memory stick and man does it run ever so faster. The loadings are awesome. I don't have PAL PurE though so if you guys play with PAL I won't be able to play with you if we ever get my Kai going.
