Are there known issues with the game disagreeing with some tracks arbitrarily?

I tried deleting and then re-copying some, and the still won't play in the Pulse playlist editor, and they sometimes freeze the game there as well.

P.S. I'm really digging racing to Pineal Gland Optics

Hey, haven't been around in quite some time, but I just picked up Pulse (going on a long plane ride tomorrow), so I figured I'd stop by and chime in.

30 songs is a bit limiting, so I started with a 100 song playlist I use for PGR3, then used a limiting factor of "wipeout-y-ness" to trim my selection to just under 30.

    Amsterdam - Paul Oakenfold
    Becoming Insane - Infected Mushroom
    Blackbeat - Apollo 440
Cities of the Future (Original Mix) - Infected Mushroom
Climbatize - Prodigy [A brilliant song, you should check it out]
Firestarter (Instrumental) - Prodigy [as ripped from Wipeout XL]
God is God - Juno Reactor
Hotaka (Extended Version) - Juno Reactor
Know Where To Run - Orbital [as ripped from Wipeout 3]
    Labyrinth - Juno Reactor
Leave You Far Behind - Lunatic Calm
Loops of Fury - The Chemical Brothers [as ripped from Wipeout XL]
    Love Island - Fatboy Slim
Masters of the Universe - Juno Reactor
    Mindfields - Prodigy
Mona Lisa Overdrive - Juno Reactor [from the album Labyrinth, not the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack]
Open My Eyes/Come On - Andy Hunter
    Soul Surfing - Fatboy Slim
    Sphere - The Humble Brothers
    Spybreak (Short One) - Propellerheads
    Supermoves - Overseer
Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) [Steve Angello Bootleg] - Eurythmics
Tears of the Gods - Apollo 440
    Velocity Shift - Overseer
    Wardogs - Juno Reactor
Xpander - Sasha [as ripped from Wipeout 3]
Masters of the Universe (Eternal Basement 12" Remix) - Juno Reactor

To Muse: No. I said in the post you referred to: ''Nine Inch Nails? ''Closer''?''
Then you said: ''Yes, which was covered brilliantly by Johnny Cash''

'Hurt' and 'Closer' are two completely different tracks. 'Closer' is from the EP numbered Halo 5, but 'Hurt' is from 'The Downward Spiral'.
I have both of those CDs, plus Pretty Hate Machine and Fragile and a few other maxi-single remixes, interview discs, blah. And the MP3 of Cash's cover of 'Hurt'.

    Me a fanatic? No.

Oops, excuse me! Confused those two songs.

    Default Cold Storage and Themroc

My favourite tracks from Pure were Onyx and Mean Red, so I purchased the "MELT" album from the Cold Storage website and Themroc's album "Beyond These Things". There's a couple of tracks on both albums that don't quite work for a game like Wipeout, but most of them are perfect.

I'd never heard the albums before I put them into my custom soundtrack list, because I really wanted those tunes to be associated with the game and nothing else. So those are my recommendations.

I WAS actually way into trance in the last couple years. But u know that most of this stuff came from europe and the trance sound is now pretty dead there... they are more into the "funky electro" thing -- you've probably seen those videos of those French kids dancing on youtube? Crazy...... personally I'm more into this style -- try searching for these songs:

Thomas Falke "Revolution On The Dance Floor"
    Groove Cutter "My Shooter"
Control One "Just A Little Bit"
    Ian Carey "Redlight"
    Kevin Weg "Dead Radio"

Some of these actually are sort of ROCK influenced, which is cool and I can even get my older brother to listen to it..... cuz there are guitars....

You can find these tracks various places but I started with this list on itunes ( http://electricnation2010.com/ ) and worked from there.....

I haven't got Pulse, or indeed a PSP, so this is actually my HD soundtrack.

And I'll have a back-up punk and rock playlist for when I'm that kinda mood:

    Motorhead - Bomber
    Stooges - TV Eye
    Crime - San Fransisco's Doomed

I like that list. Brighton must be the place to be for that kind of music. I`ve got quite a few of those and I`ll have to check out the rest. I should probably find room for ILS in there, but here`s my list:

    Leftfield - Phat Planet
    Splitloop - Hot Rock Boy
    Splitloop - Kick It Up
    Splitloop - Both Knees
    Prodigy - Hot Ride
    Phusion - Auricom
    Underworld - Dinosaur Adventure 3D
Stanton Warriors - Versions Excursions Present _ The Phantom (Layo & Bushwacka! Remix) from "Stanton Session"
Isolee - Beaut Mot Plage (Heaven & Earth Re-edit) with Stanton Warriors - Isobeats from "Stanton Session"
    Evil 9 - Cakehole
    Freestylers - Warning

from Hyper`s "Wired" (great wipeout music all through this album)

General Midi vs Hyper - We`ve Been Waiting
Moguai - Get On (Hyper Mix)
Dan F - Line of Sight
Soul of Man - Dirty Waltzer
    Hyper - Outsider
    Hyper vs Uberzone - Wubbie
    Gourilla - Attack Force

From Plump DJs "Saturday Night Lotion"

    Plump DJs - Bullet Train
Plump DJs - Smells Like Naples
    Plump DJs - Foxy Moron
    Sole Claw - Smartbomb

    From Wipeout Fusion soundtrack

    Funny Break
    Big Groovy ****er
    Blue Funk
Down the River (Torrential Rapids Mix)
    Papua New Guineau (Hybrid Mix)
    Smartbomb
    Stakker Humanoid

and finally it had to be:

    Sasha - Xpander

New Plumps and Splitloop albums should add to this.

First make sure that the tracks are encoded in MP3 44100 kHz (Any bitrate will do). Check under the "Information" menu on the PSP to see if they are. If they still do not play, format your memory stick (Make sure to back up everything on it first!).

First I tried to race with all Autechre's tunes from "draft 7.30" and "Untitled", but everything was too.. dizzy for me..
Then I made a compilation of all wipeout's best tracks of the old games..

Heaven (Acappela) + Loneliness - DJ Sammy & Yanou Feat Do + Tomcraft
Make A Move On Me (Acappela) + Electric Shock 2005 - Joey Negro + Soul Seekerz

Remember (Sasha Magnetic North Remix) - BT

Most of my custom music folder comes from past and present ministry of sound annuals. The rest is music (Electronica, Progressive Electronica, Dance, Trance) fits perfectly into the Wipeout music Genre. Good music to listen to while fanging it out on Phantom class. Does anyone else have any similar tracks to what i have got in my custom music collection?

Ministry of Sound all the way!
They've plenty of good CDs out there!

You've some nice tracks there on your list; but I recommend to try some of the original tracks you've only as mixes there. "Geht's noch" by Roman Flügel for example. It fits better to the racing without the lyrics of "Walking on the Moon" (imo, that is). You should also try the "Steve Angello Vs. Who Who Mix" there

I should update my custom soundtrack sometime... but then I would have to play Pulse again

    Icaras - Sasha
    Pirahna - Sasha

I do agree intrumental songs without the lyrics sound better
Thats why Wipeout genre songs are always the best.

Ive got Geht Noch? - Roman Flugel, its on "Ministry of Sound Maximum Bass Speaker Freakin' Break & House" cd. I think ill put in on my custom music playlist now cause in the follow up song after the transistion period Rocker -Alter Ego kicks in. Awesome listening to those songs one after the other.

Listening to it right now. Good idea, aye.
