I replaced FSOL’s “Kai” because I could barely hear it. Instead I’m using Public Enemy’s “The B-Side Wins Again”

By the way, you haven’t lived until you strap into your ship and race down the track with John Barry’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” blaring.

And, if there any Juno Reactor fans in here, I managed to mix “Conquistador I” and “Conquistador II” so that it sounds f***ing awesome. If anyone wants it, let me know.

Oddly enough, I could imagine myself racing to John Barry's theme from 'Goldfinger', or even his creepily great music from the 'Ipcress File', as some sort of bizarre futuristic setting that speaks of hidden secret evil controlling everything around you.

There's no beat to it, and it's not even loud, but it would make racing feel surreal.

The first playlist I'll likely make when I grab a 1gb card...will probably look something like this:

    All Sasha tracks from W3O.
    Digitalism - Homezone
    Digitalism - Idealistic
    Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler
Simian Mobile Disco - Tits & Acid
    Simian Mobile Disco - Hotdog
    Simian Mobile Disco - Wooden
Klaxons - Magick (Simian Mobile Disco mix)
Justice - Let there Be Light
    Justice - Newjack
    Justice - Phantom
    Justice - Stress
    Justice - Waters of Nazareth
    Juno Reactor - Swamp Thing
    Juno Reactor - Kaguya Hime
Juno Reactor - Children of the Night
    Juno Reactor - Conquistador II
Juno Reactor - High Energy Protons
    Juno Reactor - Laughing Gas
Juno Reactor - Mona Lisa Overdrive
    Sasha - Immortal
    Prodigy - Girls
    Prodigy - Memphis Bell
    Prodigy - Hotride
    Prodigy - Wake Up Call
    Prodigy - Action Radar
Probably just switch around diff tracks from same albums after that, throw in some more newer dance electro stuff

Just added a few new tracks to my list:

    Swen Weber - Bassman
    John Dahlback - Hustle Up
Kid Dub - Tetris (Tocadisco Edit)
    Dubfire - Roadkill

And then there's some other track I'm not sure yet if I should add it to my so far non-vocal music list:
    Lützenkirchen - 3 Tage wach

Do you know Black Dice, by the way ? A little more radical, but really worth a hearing.
I guess it is a bit of an odd choice. It is a bit slow to begin, but I find myself getting completely immersed in the game when the song starts to get going. Anyway, yeah, great band! Only have Mirrored but will be looking for other stuff too. Not heard of Black Dice but I'll certainly listen out for them.

while on the subject of the soundtracks, wolfy put in an all death metal scream core soundtrack in pulse, its simply insane, i was laughing so hard while sitting next to him playing, i just cant get into that music. and playing pulse to it is simply odd to me, does any one else listen to HXC screaming pounding bass drums while playing this ??!

Right now I've got some Autechre, Juno Reactor, Hella and Radiohead in my soundtrack. Hella's math-rock (I highly recommend everyone their album Hold Your Horse Is) works very well despite it having guitars, which I usually don't find very fitting in Wipeout. Maybe that's just because I associate Wipeout with electronic music, though.

I listen to select Meshuggah tracks. They have pounding beats that make racing a total awesome experience.

I love racing to Meshuggah. Select tracks: Suffer in Truth, The New Millenium Cyanide Christ and Shed.

Wow, for you guys to be talking about Meshuggah right now, just wow...

I'm like their biggest fan (see screen name)

Just going ahead and cramming my new 2GB card with music, throwing some Nothing and ObZen in there

    Well, that didn't take long.

Game freezing when I try to select a track in-race, and the game doesn't want to play most of my tracks at all (plays in PSP menu fine).

Ah, I NEVER select tracks in Pulse. I just set it to random or something, because fiddling with changing tracks in game leads to crashes, yeah. I do sometimes go into the options and switch some tracks off. If it saves allright, you can force the game to select your tracks more (or solely).

How strange, I frequently select a track in race, just after the GO! and I get my boost, games never crashed when I've done this.

MSTRKRFT and Daft Punk make for great racing music as does Nine Inch Nails and Death From Above 1979. I dunno, there's just something about the music that makes you want to go REALLY fast while you listen to it

Yes, which was covered brilliantly by Johnny Cash. I can't stand Trent Reznor, though.
