For me, like a lot of people mentioned, I'd put a compliation of songs from Wipeout past. Either a best of, or if it's too hard to chose all the songs I could gather from the previous Wipeout releases.
As for artists or songs not in any of the Wipeout games, I know I've mentioned these before but I'd use...
Pet Shop Boys - KDX 125
Pet Shop Boys - Discoteca (Trouser Enthusiasts Adventure Beyond the Stellar Empire Mix)
Every time I listen to these songs I could imagine them being used in Wipeout. Now with Pulse's music feature, that'll be a reality
As for something that's not Pet Shop Boys that screams Wipeout is this song called Paris by MSTRKRFT. I've linked to their MySpace page and you can hear the song by selecting it on their player. Good Canadian Boys that made a great album last summer.
Hopefully you can track down these songs. I know I'll be perusing this thread when Pulse comes out and adding your recommendations to my playlist.
Finally we get something we've been always wanting. From the looks of it, Pulse has cemented the PSP as a console for me. Usually I don't consider handhelds to be one.
This might have been brought up, not sure. I've been listening to Moby lately... Moby-Go?
Nah, probably to slow for this version of Wipeout. Nevermind that.

Totally forgot about this and was reminded of it when I heard the song on a wedding coach of all places.
Must have mentioned before in the past...
Darude - Sandstorm
As my buddy auslander would say it's a Wipeout song on acid.
I'm somewhat new to electronic music and am trying to grow my appreciation for and collection of the genre, so I can include it as a custom soundtrack in Wipeout Pulse. Here's what I'm thinking so far:
1. Onyx (CoLD SToRAGE)
2. Cairodrome (CoLD SToRAGE)
3. Operatique (CoLD SToRAGE)
4. Body Plus (CoLD SToRAGE)
5. Nothing But You (Paul Dijk)
6. Buenaventure (Paul Dijk)
7. Kaleidoscope (radio edit) (Paul Dijk)
8. Three Little Birdies Down Beats (Chemical Bros.)
9. Life Is Sweet (Chemical Bros.)
10. Know Where to Run (Orbital)
Any other suggestions for good Wipeout racing music? Or primers for some of the artists already included in the game?
1 to 11: CoLD SToRAGE - All WO1 tracks, Canada, Body in Motion, Onyx
12: Utah Saints - Sick
13: Elite Force - Cross The Line
14: Junkie XL - Def Beat
15: KMFDM - Anarchy
16: Da Rude - Sandstorm
17: DJ Sasha - Xpander
18: MKL - Synasthesia
19: Cut La Roc - Bassheads
20: Photek - The Third Sequence
<_<
custom playlist... literally, made myself
All of the above Plus
Chemical bros.: do it again
MKL: Control
Fall out boy*: Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy
Devil May Cry 3 fight soundtrack
Coded Arms intro music
They are what I would have, save the last two, I can't get those

Nice idea Frances I was looking for some new music
Wasn't there an old thread about this?
My suggestion: electronic and beyond. Check the Wipeout HD trailer with that orchestral track - terrific.
I'm including:
Ozzy
Motorhead
Wamdue Project
The Gone Jackals!
Iron Maiden
Mozart
Eels
Tuxedomoon
Tool
And more!
Already suggested, you just try and play Sol 2 on Crazy Train
Guys and girls, don't forget some of the recommendations made earlier in a similar thread. We'll definietly be busy trying and swapping songs to see what fits.

Ah, the majority of mine will end up being Muse, Radiohead and the Cooper Temple Clause... I've lost touch with electronica totally. Hmm, actually racing to Supermassive Black Hole will be soemthing of an experience...
Sorry that I started a new thread
I carefully read through the threads on the first page to make sure there wasn't another thread of the same topic, but did I notice the second page? No, no I did not
Anyway, I read through this and the older thread and am assembling some names in electronica to check out. Thanks, guys, for all the ideas!
1. Starry Eyed Surprise (Paul Olkenfold)
2. Onyx (CoLD SToRAGE)
3. In The Air Tonight Miami Vice Soundtrack (Nonpoint)
4. Tempurature (Sean Paul)
5. Walkie Talkie Man (Stereojam)
those are just some that are on my psp now, that have goos beats and most are fast paced.
I plan on putting on every song from WipEout original, most from Wip3out, and a few from XL and WO64. Whatever I can fit, along with Prokofiev's Montagues and Capulets. That's a wicked piece of music to have playing when my AG-5Y5 finally beats the tar out of a Triakis. Unfortunately I have to play it in my head...
(I plan to use the previous soundtracks because just hearing them puts me into a wipeout-like trance. It's like I'm transported back to tracks that I know well and am calm racing...even though I don't know Pure tracks well - just having Cairodrome going makes me feel nirvana-ish.)

More music! YAY!:
Future Funk Squad- Towards the Sun (Evil Nine Mix)
Underworld- Born Slippy Nuxx
Boards of Canada- Roygbiv
Aphex Twin- 4
Evil Nine- Devil Stuff
Crystal Method- Trip Like I Do
Planet Funk- Everyday
Daft Punk- Oh Yeah
Leftfeild- Dusted
That's all! Sayonara!
I was wondering, if this was posted elsewhere then I missed it but how will the custom soundtrack feature work exactly? Will it be able to read songs straight out my music folder or will they need to be in a game specific folder? If I have to have 2 copies of the same songs on my memory stick well, what a waste of precious space.
