Prototype textures question

Hey folks -

I think I'm imagining things ... am I going crazy or do textures and details get added to the prototype courses as you gain golds in the various challenges ... ??? I'm on the combo challenge right now and I swear the proto tracks changed ... Do these tracks eventually become fully mapped, then?
