    The Jennter Succession Conflict

    Chapter 20/14: Counterrevolution I

    1st December 2209
    Omega Harbour, Perth, Australia
    11:32.31

The final race was set to go underway at 2 PM on this Friday afternoon.
“I’ll go with Nico and Dave to manipulate the comms of...for the sake of clarity we’ll just call them AJ - Anti-Jennter.”
David Arem was a member of the former JSD*, Jennter’s private security service, from a time where AG racing teams were still living their hostilities more openly. He was a fit man around his 50s, but unlike Jonathan and especially Nico, experienced in direct combat.

“From our observations yesterday, their main communication relay within the paddock isn’t particularly well secured” Dave explained the situation “But we don’t know how the remaining personnel will act.”
“I’m certain Henry won’t go into this race unprepared” Jonathan deed his thoughts.

“Will we be able to get any evidence against their actions?” Nico asked.
Jonathan shook his head “Unfortunately not. However, we will have the legal high ground if successful.”

The few involved Jennter employees remaining at their makeshift base in a nearby hotel were led by Jana Bovier. Once getting the confirmation of the tapping being successful, Jennter’s head programmers were supposed to start purging the personnel database of the company of any person who did not transfer to the Düsseldorf team and revert the most recent change in leadership. To avoid interference through AJ, several other JSD members were assembled for this operation.

    13:56.43
Jonathan, Nico and David arrived at the paddock, tickets to the more exclusive area of the race track have been acquired beforehand and - through some letter boxes - some tickets to the hospitality of AJ, should it become necessary to get in there through subtle means.

“There’s only one guard walking in circles in the Jennter section of the paddock” Dave commented while the three hid behind a trailer “I’ll take him out and assume his role to avoid suspicion.”
“The communication relay is this boxy thing over there” Jonathan explained “It’s usually locked, but not heavily secured.”
“Where do we get a key?” Nico asked the old man.
“Dave, you’ll check the equipment of the guard once you are ready to do so” Jonathan ordered as an answer “In doubt, we won’t need one though.”

Dave ran off to knock the AJ guard out from behind, the race being about to start shifted the attention of most people at the track to the starting grid.
Jonathan and Nico ran towards the box. Dave whistled and tossed a keychain into the Bovier’s path, luckily it included a key for the comms relay container.
“Quick, we’ll squeeze inside” Jonathan whispered while dragging Nico within him into the tightly packaged box. Just around that time a group of people passed through the corridor.

“Light” the old man ordered quietly once the noise died down. Someone knocked at the door, it was the signal they agreed with Dave to clarify that he took over the position as intended.
“You’ll have to force a quick delay timed with me tapping the transmission” he briefed Nico “Found it, get ready.”
    “Ready? Now!”

All lights flickered for the fraction of a second and continued glowing in green. Jonathan immediately sent a message to Jana.

    ‘Set - JB’

As the two Boviers exited the comms station they tripped over. But instead of being greeted by Dave, the first and last thing Jonathan saw was the shoe of Madison Larough.

“Tab’s set!” Jana announced into her group and three people immediately began typing their way into the system.
It didn’t take long for the purges to be done, Jana wrote Jonathan and Nico a confirmation of the successful action. After a while she began phoning both of them, but neither answered the call.
