After Fusion, was AG Racing forgotten about?

From what I remember, AG Racing had gone to the dogs at the end of the F9000 league due mainly to corruption. Some people (hardcore fans to be exact) still held onto AG Racing even though there was a worldwide depression post-F9000. But I think the majority of people around the world had, for the most part, moved on from it all. Until of course these hardcore fans took it to the next level by bringing back the sport in the FX150.
