Sorry for the stupid question guys, but how do I select speed-lap mode from the menu? Can it be done outside of the offline campaign?
I'm about 10 events into the main campaign and haven't encountered any speed-lap events.

Speed laps will be totally unlocked when the offline campaign will be completed !

Pass the 2050 final and you get the 40 speed lap combos. 10 tracks in C, B, A and A+ speed class.
But if you have a friend who send you a Near Challenge, you can play it, even if you haven't unlocked the event or the ship.
