So I tried to get this trophy and I searched on the web for others also looking... I wasn't hopeful with this game being a few years old now, but thankfully I came across this site, which is great I must say. Google directed me to this very post and this very page where others were also looking for help.
So I joined up and then found out I would need to wait to have my account activated, so I went searching for the users looking for help, and adding them to my PSN. Incredibly, as I hosted a game that grew almost everyone i added was online and joined my efforts. After a short while there were 7 of us and all we needed one one more, and luckily they arrived and we succeeded in the end.
I just want to say thanks to the guys on here for helping me out a few days ago.
Mirek, Nixele, and Erik thanks especially for waiting around for so long with me and inviting others to help out (: not only did I earn a trophy but I had great fun racing you guys in the process, thanks.
