No you weren't, you were gloating at one manufacturer selling more hardware than another manufacturer as if that was a good thing for consumer choice.
Then the question you have to ask yourself is, do you want to see titles with the kinds of bells and whistles you got with WipEout Pulse on the PSP or do you want to run homebrew?
How did the sequel to a million selling title (WipEout Pure) go on to sell just 14,000 copies in the month of its launch when the user base had expanded exponentially?
WipEout Pulse cost a lot of money to make and the instant, far-reaching piracy of it guaranteed that the PSP would not see another WipEout sequel made.
Those developers who took a couple of years to put the game together? They got nothing in terms of a sales bonus because, due to the piracy, in relative terms there weren't any sales of significance.
That homebrew you covet also enabled people to exploit the game and ruin the online experience for those that bought it legitimately.
So bollocks to homebrew - especially Vita homebrew that doesn't even exist. It's a gaming console and the restrictions placed on its use are what enables the hardware to hit an attainable price point and for a consistent user experience.
If you can't live with those restrictions then vote with your wallet and don't buy one, but don't think for a minute that acting outraged on the internet is going to make Sony forget what happened with the PSP.
I don't even know why I'm bothering here - you know all this because it's been played out in the previous hardware generation. Leaving the hardware open to exploitation leads to a dearth of games and the platform being deserted by third parties.
So, if it's a piece of hardware from "your favourite gaming company", it does seem unusual that you'd be taking any kind of satisfaction from it being outsold by a rival that caters to a different demographic.
Oh, and throwing the fanboy label about so loosely demonstrates the kind of conduct I was hoping to avoid on this forum. I'm hard pressed to remember a gaming discussion that goes well after someone dishes that out, so keep it to yourself in future.
