I dunno why, but in particular when playing WipEout, I never set an expectation based on who i'm playing for where to finish in the pack. You're going to have slip-ups no matter how good you are at the game, in fact the slip-ups are what make WipEout interesting. It allows me to see where i'm going wrong and the rough patches there are. For most games there can be "masters" but in WipEout, I see "Legends" and "Veterans" the day WipEout becomes the kinda game where you can be flawless is the day it loses it's magic for me.

Of course, this is just an opinion. heh.

Add the above to the weapons used and it really does make for interesting races at times... Although irritating when it turns against you. I was running a 12 race tournament today, and was leading up until the last race on Sol 2, when someone got a missile on the open section and hit me with it... resulted in me spawning back on the track straight into some mines, fell off again... Eventually finished but I missed out on that win.

lol, on Sol 2 it's the worst place to rescue yourself from falling after being hit by missile on phantom... for example, you're about to fall to right, you're doing sideshift to left and fall there (it happens really often to me )

To me, my greatest problem in Wipeout HD are the reversed Wipeout pure tracks (sol 2, vineta k, modesto heights, etc). I got so used at racing them in pure that when I try to race them backwards it just comes out all wrong! Modesto heights is a pain in the head, most times I just leave my ship stopped in a corner until the end of the race so I won't be eliminating myself over and over again...

I suffer from the same problem, I can run Sebenco Climb and Sol 2 near perfect on Pure, but in HD the physics are all different Growlithe, saw you online today, lets just say that I only saw you for about 2 seconds before you disappeared... I just can't keep up with you guys

Modesto is indeed such a rewarding track, especially when you get the perfect line through the chicane section, then perfectly sideshift out the two 90 degree corners at the end (or vice versa, depending on rev or fwd). You feel invincible when you get it bang on. Until you use a turbo over the jump (fwd) and fly straight off the track. -__-"

I would like to mention my appreciation to all the new Wipeout players and they are learning, but what's with the ramming barrage at the beginning of each race! It's becoming epidemic. I feel relieved to just get ahead of the wolvepack. Is this now the norm? Actuality it is kind of funny & twisted in a sick way.

OK! I'll buy that. But hell two thirds of them self-destruct by lap two. It's a chain reaction to hear: so & so eliminated back to back to back.

I think they do it out of frustration because they struggle to get anywhere but i reckon it just slows them down pretty much like in most car racing games. Its this sort of thing that makes me search for rooms with experienced people as they can give you bump now and again but its mostly an "Excuse me i,m coming through" type of thing but by enlarge they keep it clean.

There is a lot of barging, and several times it has cost me valuable shield energy when I'm down near 20 or so, due to BR'ing :/ That's why I pilot Triakis now: so I can barge back

Nope I don't think so. And please refrain from quoting posts directly above your own.
