I don't know what is causing it but my computers are doing the total reverse of yours, mine are going to IDE instead of SATA.
BIOS wont hold settings.
Then when I get them back working one storage drive decides to start beeping [Dying].

I think I must be suffering some serious problems with power surges during the early morning hours when I'm asleep, loads of those long life light bulbs are crapping out on me and I'm having heaps of PC problems like never before.
I can't take a trick ATM.

Last week I went to build a new PC and bought a new i7-2500k chip, 2 X WD 2TB HD's, a veciloraptor HD for the OS, 8gig of 1333 ram, new case, Win 7 pro 64 and then disaster.
I find out Intel had recalled all 1155 MB's because of a controller chip problem that stuffs up the SATA 3g ports.
So I can't build a new PC till the replacements come back on the market in late March/ April.
I might as well wait until May/June when the Z68 chipped boards come out.
Then I can overclock and have the Intel on board graphics without needing a video card, can't do both ATM with the current H67 or P67 chips, it's one or the other.
It might be a blessing in disguise, I've just got to find a way to fix [keep running] the ones I have till then.
