Kai : Rendez-vous

The test was successful, so I'm now available for races on Kai. It runs pretty smooth, I could see Tomahawk's ship without lag (unlike Pulse infrastructure mode on the PSN) and it's so much more fun than racing the AI ships.
Thanks Tomahawk for helping me test it and for racing (but not for causing me to eliminate myself on Cardcity Run! ).

I always found Pure on adhoc through Kai works much better than Pulse`s official infrastructure online mode. I`m going to dig out the old DWL122 and see if I can get it up and running! Wish me luck I did it before so I can it again....

edit: seems to be connecting alright, in the arena and PSP recognized. Bring it on.... always available for races at Flash or lower speeds as anything more is bad for my health.

Depending on when I finish work (it varies), I can be on at that time, yes. But I'm up for races later than that or on weekends if I'm free and somebody posts here.
Hmm... perhaps we can somehow sabotage the PSN, so that nobody can play Adhoc Party (or even HD or Pulse online), and they'll all have to return to Kai!

Adhoc Party is great, I'm sure, but it's not worth me buying a PS3 for.

Same goes for me: I'm not going to buy a PS3 just for Ad-Hoc Party and/or HD... I'm happy that Pure seems to be coming back to X-Link Kai now! I'll be online as often as I can and trying to get back into the game. edit: Kappeskopp and PAUL1998 are in the Pure arena on kai, but neither are joining my game or replying to messages. I guess they're having problems with kai? Quite understandable; it's a nightmare to use.

Hi looking to get Kai running,but have problems.

Ah, I thought it would be Kai problems. It took me ages to get it working, and to be honest, I'm not sure why it works now and didn't before.
I can't help with running the Kai app on Windows (I'm a Linux user, and use a browser-based GUI for Kai), but you must:
- PSP adhoc channel set to 1 in the XMB Network Settings
- port forward 30000 (udp) on your router (also entering your PC's local IP, e.g. 192.168.1.5, which should be static)
- connect your PSP to your PC with a dongle or a wireless card (I use a wireless card on my laptop, but I don't know how to do that in Windows). I should mention that people have trouble doing this with Vista (and probably 7 too).

If you can get to the Pure arena on Kai and in "Metrics" it says "Reachable: Yes" and your PSP appears under "Found consoles", it should be working.

how do you guys play pure online? iv just got my psp up and running and i fancy my chances online but when i go to "online" it greys out all of my connections so i cant select them

We're using X-Link Kai. To get some more information about X-Link Kai is and what it does, I recommend you take some time and read through this thread. A good description of what you'll have to do to get X-Link Kai installed and running and what hardware you need for it is mentioned here.
