...Teachers who describe small failings as the great cataclysm of the ages, as if the chasm you have landed yourself in is the gates to limbo wherein there is no redemption or salvation!

A lacking analysis of an article is not the end of ends and it helps absolutely no one when teachers describe it as an abomination and not as what it is: a small error, that can be rectified quite easily with some guidence.

My Dad was getting annoyed the other day because McAfee basically took an entire day to do a scan. Dunno why he bothers with it when the free stuff works so well.

I expected at least something to come up. I'm obviously doing the internet all wrong. Never had any virus problems myself. Have tried a few different softwares and now use Comodo internet security.

whats grinding my gears today is.....

the animals ...opps i meant students who thought because uni grants are going up could justfy attacking the furture king of england in his car throwing paint up it and breaking a window..as well as urinating on churchhills monument and hanging from flags on the centaph.and generally being vandals.im ashamed of these vile peasant scum.

as they were students ,i say bring back the cane and give them all a good thrashing in public on their backsides make em cry and make them clean up their filth, then send them to bed.

no one has a right to act like scum like these poor excuses for society did.there are other ways to get there view across.

    shame on them all.

they do think that it got out of hand because of people (who are not uni students) turned up just to cause trouble, but still its no reason for the students to make it worse by joining in.

i dont think they should raise the cost tho, why should only the rich get edugated.

I no-one else equally annoyed by the tactics used by the police and the way the media portrays things?? It's always difficult to know what the true story is but I can't help but feel like this whole 'kettling' thing is probably one of the main causes of a lot of this trouble. There always seems to be a bad element at these things, i.e. people ready to start trouble and something like kettling just gives them an excuse to do just that. I could understand if it were just used to direct a protest in a certain direction, but just blocking people in and forcing them to stay there is only going to make those people result to force themselves.

Also, it seems a bit hypocritical for society in general to condemn Gilmour's actions. People revel in their drunking/drug-fuelled antics all the time in this country, as if it's somehow a positive thing, and often far worse than this. But some guy swings on a flag while too off his head to realise it's significance, whether on drugs or just adrenalin, and everyone condemns it in an instant, when the chances are that a decent proportion of them have done equally ridiculous things.

People also swallow the media's guff with things like this. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence will realise that most of the trouble will be a result of thugs, but journalists sell more papers if they can paint a negative picture of the country's youth and blame a specific part of society for it. So they still refer to anyone causing trouble as a student, when those who are true students and actually want to learn, will more than likely be the sensible ones who just want to have a say. Not to mention that fact that no-one has reported anything about what the fees rise means in real times. There are no accounts of what the cost of a typical course at universities at various levels are estimated to actually cost. All I see is £9,000 per year. So of course, everyone will see that and realise they can't afford it, but will there be cheaper options? Can't even say because no-one has tried to tell us.

Also, why shouldn't anyone march, even if they do have enough money to pay the fees? Plenty of people will have already been to uni but can still protest if they want. The worst thing about all this is that those worst affected didn't even have any say about it in the election. This whole thing screws over young people, who've been led to believe that an education is the only/best way for them to get a shot at a decent life, and then told they don't deserve it, all because of the crap decisions that the generation before them has made in the name of greed, after receiving their own education for next-to-nothing in comparison.

I guess the only thing this proves is that a vote for the Lib-Dems really is a wasted vote. What a shame.

regardless of the failings of the govenment.i do not know enough to make a real oppinion on if their policys are good/bad.i do understand that they have to make cuts cos we have no money left thanks to last govenment but i am sure they could have made cuts elsewhere rather than damage englands future by decresing the amount of potential students.

but its dosnt give anyone the right to do what some of these protesters have done from what ive seen in the papers and on tv.i stand by what i say they are scum and a disgrace and i hope all those responsible are punished

    Totally agree

If students can't protest then who can, it's what they are there for. Apathy should only be for the old.

peaceful protests don't work though. its essentially saying "just walk over me, all we can do is hold hands and light candles" i cant really think of a peaceful protest that has actually achieved anything.

P.S. no one cares when animal rights protesters go bananas and start throwing chairs about do they? and they lead whole campaigns of abuse against individuals

also why raise the fee's when everyone wines that qualifications are worth nothing anymore? if anything by that logic they should be lowered

It's exactly the total disregard to what some people think we should hold dear that makes the country great.

It's nothing to do with the fact they are students, they're just young, idealistic, pissed-up kids with an axe to grind. It's what youth is meant to do and has done through the age - piss on the past because we are the future.

Anyway we will have payed for the future King of England's car, so we can trash it if we choose.

peacefull protests dont work really..your right there nutcase.but voilent protests work even worse.as they ensure fees will go up and individuals are held accountable and punished for there actions and all students are painted in a dim picture by the media..
the actions of some this week cannot be justified at all they are unaaceptable in the eyes of all normal decent people.

as for student fee going up.i do feel the govenment could get the money elsewhere rather than increasing fees.

@kgb..your talking crap we have no right to smash up the future kings car.

Don't think you can speak for all normal, decent people Jasmin, I would class myself as such and totally agree with their actions.

We have every right to smash the ***King car up , we pay for him to ride in the thing.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock-paper-scissors ( thats how they'll solve it )

id class myself as relatively normal and i agree. its just pro tory government newspapers that twist it into the protesters being classed as scum. scare storys sell more papers. true. if i lived in London and they turned my backyard into a bomb site then id be pissed off, but there doing it for a reason, these people need to look at the government for answers

with all the cuts. i imagine by the end of next year it wont just be student's protesting. a mass grinding of the publics gears is the only way stuff will get actually done in a protest

im not gonna argue with you kgb1971.

if you think its fine and acceptable urinating up national monuments and vandalism and graffiti and violence , hanging off the cenataph and attacking the royal family who have nothing to do with student fees and acting like animals ..so be it..its your oppinion.

i said what grinds my gears and i still 100% stand by it.
@nutcase..lol paper scissors stone to decide the next king..sounds about right or maybe best of 3 in tiddly winks.
