lol, i can't wait too
but the real problem is not the camcorder, it's my TV-resolution (576i)!
if i film my TV, and watch the recorded stuff afterwards, i always got a serious headache, caused by the "flickering"
and i don't want to record and show flickering, so the solution 4 me is 2 buy a 1080p-TV without inputlag.
my father has a philips 42"1080p LCD, but inputlag is super duper to much. i can't play with inputlag! im no jedi.

Leungbok I think used to have a CRT which he made heaps of videos on. I can still remember that weird black bar constantly getting in the way of awesome lap times.... but they were usually such good lap times, it didn't matter (too much)! You'd easily be able to provide some must-watch vids despite a lack of screen quality, too

My TV has input lag, too. 32"1080p Philips. It's very minimal, but in some games it bothers me a lot. I think I've never had any major difficulties playing WipEout, but maybe that's why I input left, right when I'm still on the ground and the last left when I'm in the air to perform a barrel roll XD

The best way is to play maybe Rock Band or something like that. Fighting games are also very difficult to play and you can see easily if you have an input lag. Or just play a game 15 mins with HDMI and then 15 mins with SCART cable. The SCART cable has no lag, only HDMI's do (not sure if it's the TV or the cable...) so if you see a difference between the action and the input on the HDMI, you have lag

i can't tell u anything other than compare it with a CRT-TV.
on my CRT-TV i have (almost) 0 inputlag, that means direct control!
makes BR alot easier as on the philips HDTV with it's enormous inputlag.

tbo, i can't do the doubleBR after 1st corner on anulpha when playing on my fathers philips HDTV, lol

Week 51 has come to a close – congratulations to JFthebestJan not only for winning, but for setting a new WR too! A big thanks to all who participated, your names will added to the Hall of Fame Thread.

This week marks the 1 year anniversary of the Speed Lap Challenge, and it seems to have flown by. I never thought it would really take off, so seeing it still going after a year is amazing and it’s all thanks to you guys - give yourselves a pat on the back!

Anyway, I said that I’d be doing something a little different this week to mark the 1 year anniversary. We all love the WipEout series, especially the very first on the PS1 which kicked it all off and started up our love for the game.

So for this week, we’re going to go back to the roots of WipEout with the 4 ships that started it all:

FEISAR from the European Union

AG-Systems from Japan

Auricom from the US

Qirex from Russia

As we all know, each track is based in a particular location, so let’s match up the ships to their respective areas:

FEISAR – Moa Therma (based in Sicily, EU)

AG-Systems – Metropia (based in Tokyo, Japan)

Auricom – Tech De Ra (based in Nevada, US)

Qirex – Ubermall (not sure where it’s based, but it has a lot of Qirex sponsorship!)

And of cause, we all remember the two speed classes from the first game – Venom and Rapier

Now that we’ve matched up the ships to the tracks which most resemble their origins, I present this weeks challenge – not 1, but 4 speed lap challenges, each based on a ship and their location!

SPEED LAP/MOA THERMA (FORWARD)/RAPIER/FEISAR

SPEED LAP/METROPIA (FORWARD)/RAPIER/AG-SYSTEMS

SPEED LAP/TECH DE RA (FORWARD)/RAPIER/AURICOM

SPEED LAP/UBERMALL (FORWARD)/RAPIER/QIREX

Everyone is entitled to attempt any number of these challenges (it could be 1 or all 4 of them.) Yes, it’s something a little different this week having 4 challenges instead of 1, but I liked Challenger’s idea so much that I decided to go for it.

Anyway, enough from me now, I’ve rambled on for ages and nobody likes to read a wall of text. Good luck everyone – if you have any questions or are confused by anything, let me know and I’ll do my best to explain.

I thought this challenge was HD craft only at first... just had a quickie with the Fury craft:

Ubermall: 24.03, 8 SPs, 3 BRs, Qirex Fury
Tech De Ra: 25.55, 8 SPs, 1 BR, Auricom Fury.

I don't know if TDR is my favourite course of the four, but I felt most comfortable in the Auri. o.O

tech 25.52 2br auricom f......a bit poor lap

i hope to go faster later..maybe i shoul get andybob to motivate me and chase me around the track to get a second off my time..

@question to challenger.....how did u do 3 br on uber..i did the sideshift one at first bend and the turbo br throught he arch..what ones did you do..many thx..
also your time on tech was good with only one br..i did tat turbo br that yeldar showed in his video.watch it ..its a good one humans like us can do..

i liked the quirex ship the most too as its fresh and new to me..
didnt like the auricom as i i think its a heap of oversized junk
fiesar was way to underpowered steers nice but then so do most other ships once you get the timing right
ags systems well its the basic ship most can use this so its nothing new..but its does deliver the good pretty well.

Metro: 22.66, 1 BR, 10 sp's, fury AG-S
Uber: 22.44, 6 BR's, 7 sp's, fury Qirex
TDR: 24.33, 3 BR's, 8 sp's, fury Auricom

Couldn't stand using the Qirex and Auricom! I haven't been playing that much for the last few months, and when I have it was primarily with the Icaras. Now everything else feels weird.
