And to -definitely- clarify the rules and regulations :

Avalon mode : (Phantom Class, Weapons on, best of 7 races, each pilot picks 3 tracks, the last one will be the same for everyone per round.
=====> Only in case of total agreement between the 2 pilots

Custom mode :
-Each pilot chooses 3 rounds (Class, mode, weapons or no weapons, green)
-the last one will be the same for everyone per round
-best of 7 rounds
=======> All the other cases (default mode)

Just one or two questions and suggestions kanar...

When you refer to Avalon or custom 'mode', and then refer to game 'mode', perhaps use a different word for one of them so that 'mode' doesn't get confusing. (It probably wouldn't happen, but with an international forum/event it's best to be sure).

Also, I'm assuming that, given that it's best of 7 races, that each round is a race, and that the game 'mode' I choose can't be a tournament with 16 races.

So, it's something like that attached image? That makes me think of another question. If it's an Avalon mode event, and the track that is the same for everyone is, say, Sol 2, then can I also choose Sol 2 as one of my own tracks?

Finally, would the avalon mode thing not be best as weapons off as that's part of what makes avalon unique? Not a big issue, was just wondering.

Unfortunately I don't think I can commit to this right now, as I'm never sure when I'll be home from work on any given day, or if I'll need to work at the weekend. I had thought things were settling down, but then today everything went a bit tits up...again.

hey Luri, big thanks for joining! Working on the rules atm, thanks to Saturn thoughts, so yes, you could pick a track twice, if the last round isn't already the track you want to pick.

Argh sorry I didn't explain well my idea. I meant a cup like Kaori did a while ago, tennis-style cup, with direct elimination. No team involved, as it's a solo event. But thanks for your ideas BW, I've added the possibility, as you suggested, to choose your mode if the 2 pilots agree with something they prefer both. So, you're in BW btw?

Maybe you should call the comp Wipeoutledon [wipeout/wimbledon in case it wasn't obvious ] since it's more of a tennis championship than a world cup.

I'll try to be in it if I can, I start a new job today [see how this one works out] so I don't know what my availability will be a in few weeks time.
It's the dreaded +10 GMT timezone difference that is always the overriding factor in my case.

Sat, nice pic there, that's exactly what I'm talking about, except I followed your advices regarding the avalon battle; it will be no weapon based as suggested. But Custom battle will remain the DEFAULT mode for everyone, allowing people a fair competition for all-round players. Argh just updated everything now, you guys will let me know if it's ok.

hey mikrucio, I'm a super goat myself, but no worries, would have been great if you could participate though; did you check the default battle mode (custom), allowing you to choose half of the rounds? (speed class, zone battle, eliminator...) Best way to have a fair competition for everyone, no matter your skill level. Anyway, hope to see you soon on the tracks.

Jeez rules and regulations are pain in the ass lol. Added the "FAIR RULE" in custom mode, which could be applied in case of disagreement on the 7 rounds progress : for example an eliminator expert couldn't pick more than 3 times this mode, same for zone battle or single race. Woah I think I'm done with that now lol. Feel free to let me know your thoughts!

LOL I can undertand that, it still looks but I'll do my best to clarify that quickly. Anyway you guys have the definitive version first post, just need to explain that a little better. (I in english)

ok, just updated the 1st post, and now let's take an example :

1st round, I'm opposed to a zone battle fan. Pre-defined round 7 was decided as an eliminator round (tech de ra, rapier, blah blah) for everyone
We're agreeing for custom battle :
-I'm choosing my 3 rounds, same for my opponent.

case 1 : we have 3 races & 3 zone battles, last pre-definined round is an eliminator one (+ no more than twice the same track version)

case 2 there's more than 3 times the same mode : for eg. my opponent took 3 eliminator races instead of the zones ====> the last pre-defined round was decided as an eliminator one = 4
====> fair rule request if necessary ==> one eliminator round must be removed. Same goes for zone battle or single race, but I highly doubt that scenarion will happen.

Hope it's not even worse than before regarding my explanations lol

Yeah mate too bad you can't make it, as for Unc and some other friends around here. Thanks for your support btw, and well this isn't done yet lol, still need to bring a lot more pilots here . I did my best to find the fairest challenge, trying to include everyone's best skills, regarding your favourite wipeout hd game mode. MAYHEM .
