The Speed Lap Challenge

Blah, life's got in the way and I haven't had time to do much on the challenge this week. I still can't do either the BR onto the overpass or a boost BR reliably enough to string a good lap together, so I guess I'll have to have the shame of being the only one on this thread not to beat Zico. D: I probably won't be on for most of the next month or so, but I'll promise to at least try and post a time.

...31.43 using the Fury, 3 Barrel Rolls, 12 Speed Pads.

AP is imo the hardest track in the game..it might be easy to fly around but to do it in a good time makes it the hardest.their are like 6-7..maybe more br's most of which are near impossible..

To do this track in a good time is also beyond me too..so dont feel embarassed..

time to improve a little on chen p rev, i'm rubbish on the rev course...
also time to clean the dust out of the mirage, i haven't used this ship for ages!

i dont mind using mirage but i hate racing against them..their like the white vans of wipeout the hog the whole track with thier fat large round body and its hard to get past them..
this is a good challenge cos im rubbish at this track i dont even know a br
and i have never made the last corner without hitting walls..

i wonder if i can change that this week...Hmmmmm

You can do a BR going down the last left hander. Combine that with a boost-BR start and a boost-BR over the shortcut and you have 3 BRs. Might be possible to be a do a BR just after the tunnel in the middle of the track but it's hard at this speed (well, for me...).

edit: i'm sure barnster got his 23.58 by either clipping a wall at start and chaining 2 BRs or clipping the wall in the middle section and chaining BRs there (or both!).

Jas, have you tried watching Hellfire's videos? There's two phantom BRs on this track, and watching SaturnReturn's videos, he can pull off three on a regular basis. Rapier would probably be a bit trickier, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of three or even four BR-runs on this course.

hey, don't worry jasmin my previous rec was 26.85 without using the shortcut, last night i tried some laps and managed to cut it by a sec.
keep trying and you'll improve!

edit: can't improve i give up, so final time is: 25.72 - 9 sp - 2 br - fury

Good run, so it turns out you don't need another BR to get near the WR at this speed. Those extra funky BRs are key in Venom/Flash though...

One question to all pilots. How many laps You are flying in week for SL challenge? This is my time after 9 laps.

A quick 5 lap session got me 25.02 with 2BR's. I'm struggling to do the sideshift BR.
