I just had a look at the Overall Ranking. I'm only on rank 3. Jesus Christ!
Well, I never took care of that one. I think I would have to run some more
tracks to go up there. But I won't force myself doing this. If I play ZONE, I
play to get a certain feeling. And this feeling only kicks in on very high
speeds, when everything is aligned perfectly. And to get there you really have
to work with the track. For me this is much more interesting then just running
on each and every track just to better my overall ranking. And if any
competition, then I prefer a direct battle on a given specific track fighting
    for the top.
I remember Carro-Armato battling with me on SC. There is a nice story behind
how this battle was fought and how my record came about and what it took me
to get there. If someone is interested I may write it down.

@DreamyElf: Have you become interested in ZONE as of late? It's interesting
that you mention the SC record since this record doesn't look like a big one,
but I can tell, trying to break this record will damage everyone's fingers.
    Setting this record took everything, but likewise has given me all I ever wanted;
maximum thrill and maximum tension while being on a path to touch perfection.
Contrary to SC, I think that I can improve CP and MH a lil further.

Final moment of my record run on Sebenco Climb....

Just please don't start on tech de ra reverse Problemsolver, I'm *this* close to getting top spot It's amazing what one little adjustment can do to your score.
And I'd be really interested in your sebenco climb story.

@DreamyElf: Ah nice! What's your best postion as of now?

@Reezy: Very unlikely that I will run TDR reverse within the next months.
So you have plenty of time to set a solid record. I sense TDR reverse is
going to be a big thing for you, would be your first rank 1. Hola! With 44
perfect zones you should be able to do it. Good luck. Make a picture
once you made it. You will remember it for ages!

Nice, you just deleted all you non-#1 zone records to increase your rank, good work!

Don't worry though, when the site gets mass updated again you'll drop back down.

New record for tech de ra reverse. Turned music off and went for it
Got to zone 35 before my first crash. Nearly got a perfect lap on zone 60, messed up at the final chicane, ugh. Gave me +10 shield tho and was maybe the defining moment in reaching my goal.
And I did have the top spot for amphiseum reverse for a couple of days Problemsolver, so officially my 2nd #1. More proud of this since fury's been out alot longer now

@Rezatron: I deleted three, pos: 100+, I never entered. So much about
the Overall Ranking. But tell me, is this ranking of any importance?
I never saw anyone referring / relying on it. Is there a battle out there
I don't know about? Just wondering.

@Reezy: Looks great, man! Well done! What's up next?

@DreamyElf: Seems like that you like tight tracks as well.

    Only in my mind.

What's your record for most number of perfect consecutive zones from start? I'm guessing you might have done a Syncopia run up to Supersonic without touching a wall? Talk about taking the "Own the Zone" trophy to overkill...

My record for most number of perfect consecutive zones from start? I don't
know if you're will to believe me, but I did 102 perfect zones in sequence
on Syncopia on my 151 run. Pretty sick, I know. But it's the truth. No kidding.

Not surprised. With that many perfect zones in total you'd kinda have to. Most I've got is 80 or so, then I got over-excited and started crashing. Still searching for 100 perfect zones on Syncopia.

Only just noticed (now that PS's records are gone) that finish_killer has a pretty sick score on Syncopia (and some other tracks). Maybe there's some competition on the cards

Syncopia should allow for a 160 / 130. On my 151 run I had full shied entering
zone 150. But then I made one little mistake and lost all of my shied. From
zone 140 onwards it becomes quite hard, but from zone 150 onwards it becomes
a binary situation. Either you run perfect or you are dead. Going from 150 to
160 can only be done in a pure mental state, meaning, every rational thought
will kill you right at the spot. So if you think you can fail, you will fail
right at the spot. If you look at the counter and think; oh sh!t, 10 more
zones to go; you will fail right at the spot. Everything that takes you
out the slighted will kill you. No second chances.

@Problemsolver, next up: 50 perfect zones
As for overall ranking, I like to use it for inspiration to improve. Without Connavar's site I don't think I would have invested as much into zone as I have.

@DreamyElf, keep going! We all start somewhere. One extra perfect zone can take you further, then further still. I don't know if you've achieved zone zeus yet, but I'm sure you saw how far away it looked at first, and how progress can be made towards it.

I only recently got back into WOHD after a good 6 months + break (I stopped before the ads update, whenever that was), and it has seemed to make my Zone score on Syncopia a lot better. Traded total Zones for more Perfect Zones.

Improved to 12th I tend not to bother with the other tracks tbh, I play Zone because it gets you to focus on the game and nothing else, which is quite relaxing.

Also, this was posted by Yaster over on the Official Playstation Community Board for Wipeout HD:

    Hi All

Wipeout HD is to undergo some maintenance with it's online servers.

Here's what you need to know:

    Date: 20/07/2010
    Start time: 10:00 UK Time
    End Time: 12:00 UK Time
Might be an explanation as to why someone saw deleted Zone scores

What do you guys like about Zone Battle? I absolutely loathe it. In the Fury campaign, on Elite, it's basically a roll of the dice with impossible odds stacked against you. You can only take 1 barrier collision, otherwise you don't have enough shield to spare for wall banging/getting shoved out of the way by the competition. Which, by the way, is totally insane. Why is collision detection on in this mode? It's like for the entire first lap I can't get to a single boost pad because some stupid A.I. is so illogically DETERMINED to hold it's line that it will slam me into a wall, thus ruining my race already. As if asking a person to get enough tiny little squares on the surface of a rapidly dissapearing ground at a thousand kilometres an hour to advance my zone boost to 8.0 isn't crazy enough. All the while 7 other racers with their ever-present auto-pilot are leaving behind hundreds of eternal Zone Barriers for me to desperately dodge.

Anyway, with that said, I managed to thwart Fury's Elite Campaign today, even these infuriating Zone Battles. I just felt like sharing my wealth of hatred with you all.

Jesus that is utterly absurd. I've been hammering Zone on Syncopia for the last couple weeks and yesterday I smashed my personal best, got to zone 83, first 43 zones perfect. I was frankly over the moon, determined to get to zone 100 though. It's easily the most fun you can have legally.

@JaceMc: Campaign Zone Battle sux, granted. It's also annoying how the AI
behaves at higher speeds. xD However, online is much better.

Thanks dude, I intend to! I've learnt it's all about consistency, making as few mistakes as possible in the earlier zones, and still managing to keep it together at the higher speeds. Got to zone 90 the night before last but I'd touched the sides a few times early on so my score was relatively quite low. The run after I only got to zone 80, and yet got a new P.B because it was almost faultless until the later stages. Once I've combined the two it will all come together.

By the way ProblemSolver, are there any videos available of your higher scores on Syncopia? It would be good to actually see what zone 150 looks like, doubt I'll ever get there myself!

If I remember correctly the highest Zone run on video is by Wotan, finishing at 135.
