I think your right there. Dodgy bastards, where being extra dodgy with the amount of thermal paste they used when assembling the console. Stingy bastards. Not what i paid a grand for at all.

I doubt the PS3 was designed by Sony to survive the Australian summer. Considering the amount of 40C/105F plus degree days Perth had last summer i can see why it bombed out, also with the stingy thermal paste used. Funny how the PS3 crapped itself on one of the coldest days of the year though.

They put this much in every large PS3. I've seen other pictures at other places, it looked like that too.

On that note, it's old but still funny:
I've seen things with my eyes...

That 3D Blueray disc playback was supposed to be in the last update.
I suppose there isn't exactly a rush for it, although if you have bought a Sony 3D TV and were promised 3D playback from the PS3 to be here earlier, which you would need to playback your one and only 3D disc, then you would be pretty miffed that it has taken so long.
Early 3D TV take up hasn't be so bad for Australian owners, at least they have had 3 State of Origin Rugby leauge matches, and 15 World Cup matches all broadcast live free to air over the last 2 months.
I wonder what they will do for content after tonight's last World Cup match though?
Those 3D specs are going to be gathering dust.

Looks like slim pickins in every other country 3D TV content wise, which I can't see giving people a reason to go out a buy one.

Does anyone here wonder what Namco-Bandai are up to these days?

I remember in the last Ridge Racer. Ridge Racer 7 on the PS3, when you complete the entire game you unlock some pretty cool videos. One of them is Ridge Racer Project 2010. Well it is 2010 now isnt it. In fact half the year has already gone. Is there another Ridge Race title on the PS3 in the making? Cant seem to see any videos or reviews or talk about it at all. Joke really tbh, also what about an Ace Combat title on the PS3? Is there one coming out in the near future? Patiently waiting for this, along with Gran Turismo 5 as well too.

Gran Turismo? Rollcage? Crash Team Racing ?

Never played a RR cept for the demo on PS3. Didn't really get on with it that well. The drifting felt a bit...artificial. Anyone know what I mean?

I think there might be one hanging about somewhere already.

Rollcage HD would be the dog's proverbials

Best PS1 racing games. Real Racing Roots '99 in phantom mile. Could never get past that bloody level with the Dig Dug Racing Team, so bloody hard. CTR was a great multiplayer game. Need more of them on the PS3.

The drifts are very artificial in Ridge Racer. It is a arcade racing game, not really meant to be real at all. Just a good drift racing game with some legendary electronic tunes in the game.

i've never gotten into RR games...
tried them but didn't like them.
    i was more of a sim-freak!
you know GT(ALL of them), Colin McRae Rally (i still remember the days i lost in this gem plus rally school ftw^^)
but i played some arcade games too like Sega Rally and Le Mans 24H in Arcades and CTR, rollcage, vigilante 8( if i remember correct)and of course mario kart at some friend's house...
feeling a bit nostalgic about those good old days...

Vigilante 8 was a bloody good one, shame the PS1 variants of the game never came available on the PSN to download, bloody shame. Colin McRae rally was a really good rallying game, first of its kind in terms of realism and all the drifts i pulled in that game i do now days as well too on the gravely dirt roads in the hills

Gotta say i had more fun with PS1 games back in the goods days far more than with any PS3 game ive had to date.

yeah i also enjoyed the games more back then...
also GT and Colin McRae were groundbreaking back then with unique features unlike most of todays games that try to impress with graphics.
maybe the fact that i play with strangers online and not with my real friends in my house, have also played a role in my enjoyment.
only exception is wipeout hd, a game that enjoy and that helped me make friends(even on psn)...
another factor i think is that most playstation games were unique and started long-termed franchises, so today we get more sequels with just updated graphics rather than some new projects...
there are of course some exceptions but i think nowadays people prefer games with 'omg' graphics rather than unique and rare gameplay.
look the sales of Ico and Okami.
this is a reason, imo, why the market is flooded with so many shooters...

The first Colin McRae rally was ahead of its time. I remember the night levels in the game as well as the wet ones also. Also i remember that cheat thingy in the game where when you where on that night stage and you took the wrong turn you would come to a fence where you would stop and you car would turn off and you couldnt restart it then you got beamed up into a light and your car would slowly rise then disappear, then you would come back on the stage with something like 4minutes added onto your time and your entire car turned into a jelly state. Quite a clever design in the game for who, who discovered it.

Hey did anyone watch the last Top Gear episode? Yeldar was in there driving the reasonably priced car and believe it or not he got the top time on the track as well also too

yeah those night levels were terrifying!
still remember the night stage at monte carlo...
blind corners, slippery road and only a voice to help you!
also playing the stage at indonesia complete with raining and thunderstorms from the in-car view was the best experience i had for years back then!
i'm still waiting for a great rally game to arrive.( dirt 2 is way to americanised for my likes)
haven't seen the top gear episode,do you have a youtube link?
