woaw. I see this thread is up & running, and full of great ideas... Big congrats DP89 & all of you guys for keeping that stuff alive (and please no more "dedicated to...

Damn guys I'm still feelling the wipeout virus in my blood, looks like I'm experiencing a locked-in syndrome atm; My life took me really away from this outer heaven, and the fact my ISP fked me up during 3 long months enhanced the total come back to the real life commitments. But despite the fact I haven't played wo that much for a long time now, I couldn't stop lurking this place aka TEH wipeout mecca, & couldn't stop dreaming of this wipeout universe... I mean all of you. I'll do my best to join you guys for this event, still need to sort a lot of stuffs but I'll try my best to show off my ugly rusty skills lol. Rob, I briefly read you could shut that stuff down one of these days, so I just wanted to say once again, & even if I'm not a old member here, that I'll never forget this place & the people I virtually & physically met here. Not a dumb facebook/myspace **** here, this website is a jewel, a treasure island in this ocean of numeric crap. Gah my english is still awful lol, sorry for that,

the awards are supposed to be fun awards...

Having awards for being successful at winning seems too competitive, and subtacts from the essence which is avalon.

I think the awards need to taken away, unless you have only a handful of fun ones... not ones for winning in everyship you can think of, on every tracks you can think of. For example - there are peeps who pilot only AG-SYS (me

) or something else...

Also, with all the rooms being hosted - who is gonna keep track of the award system across multiple hosted rooms over an entire weekend? Sounds like pretty daunting work to me

I feel like avalon has turned into a competition, and it never was - its a free for all, non competitive online meet... Also I'm a host for this event, and am concerned at how all this is gonna be looged

I'm not saying awards are a bad idea - just that this is avalon, and non competitive awards should be encouraged. Fun ones. Let me lead by example, here are some suggestions :

Mage of Rage - describing the most violent pilot of the entire experience
Rabbit - describing the pilot who attended the most hosted rooms throughout avalon
Dusty Legend - a legendary veteran pilot who attends avalon after an absence on WipEout HD/Fury and kicks it
Avalon Talkathon - describing a pilot who spent most of his/her avalon in the hosted chatrooms
Rusty Legend - a legendary veteran pilot who attends avalon after an absence and have lost their previous racing form

Just my suggestions above, I think the awards have to be decided amongst the hosts - since they have the best idea of who deserves what

if they try really hard - they can. Just about... barely. They need to take their vitamin tablets first though

both awards are for getting to know each other better.
Most courteous: the most courteous person in the chatroom/Avalon lounge

Now for the 16th. What are the starting times for the host room/s? Ill make myself available for Friday arvo like the previous Avalon. Both controllers charged to full, mobile phone off, and all ready to go again

You sound like you are starting to have the same sleeping pattern is me. Sleep for a couple of hours, then run flat out til you bomb out. I hosted for a tad over 8hours straight last time, was truly dead at the end of that, didnt even have any energy to hang around in the chatroom later on either.

But 16 hours, Gaz, thats pure nuts! Going to take turns passing the controller on to others hosts i guess?

Ive got an idea. Syncopia room should be added to this session. One track, one room, same track being played continuously. Anyone up to host the Syncopia room?

The New Zealand, Australian and East Asian players should be able to help you out hosting at the begging there DP, so you dont have to change your work arrangements.

The Wife was playing not me: Beat Pirhapac in an avalon race, this included eliminating his ship as well.
Crème brûlée 'ed: destroy any french ship on the track.
Crème brûlée le epic: destroy any french ship on the track and win the race as well.
Encore Une Fois: Beat any french player while listening to any SASH! song twice.

K, enough terrorizing the French.
