I'd really like to see how this is being done! Please try and reproduce that Syncopia-glitch. I tried some menu-flipping myself and noticed that it is possible to make a new selection during the menu-animations that follow a previous selection but I still can't select any of the zone-tracks in SL or TT. I tried to rapidly press X-left-X but no luck so far.
