I think that's the best I can do before I destroy something. Venom is unfathomably, mind-numbingly, infuriatingly, unmeasurably, intolerably slow. I can almost 100% confidently say it genuinely frustrates me more than anything in any other videogame I've ever played...

I LOL'd at that one AG-Wolf. What's really crazy is when you watch people review the game and talk about the insane speed while the video clip simultaneously shows them only playing at Venom speed and with pilot assist on. (I remember those days)

I think the start line is totally messed up on Moa. I don't get your problem, but my start line is actually before the visual beam by a little bit, on both forward and reverse. The new lap starts before i even cross it.

That might explain why every time I used a boost before I passed the start/finish line, it would always count it on the new lap...

@saturn: yeah tell me about it, and even WOHD Phantom isn't as fast as F-Zero GX, or Wipeout 3 Phantom. On these slower speed classes I hit/scrape walls more, I fly off uncontrollably when I try to do mid-air trickery and shortcuts... it's ridiculous.

Yeah if you stay right before the mag you can boostBR: Like so (Cheers Phaeton )

Not sure if it's faster than a good boostBR. Personally I think the BoostBR is a bit faster (and MUCH easier to do (maybe not for BR-motion-pitch-aliens )) but it may be worth a try if the BoostBR is giving you trouble

actually I had just gotten up when I posted earlier, but actually being able to recall now, I remember having the same problem as you guys before realising that saving my turbo for the very last moment before the line seemed to be the problem.

I always used to mess up the very last BR the last time I was doing moa therma on venom, so I'd try and turn back to reset my boost, and I came to realise that the damn start line wasn't where it seemed to be!

My PB is 33.62 (Icaras HD, August 2009) but i can't get close to this.

Boost BR onto the magstrip is much slower on Venom than "classic method".

If you want "extra BR" check this video, 0:45. I used this for my PB run.

It gives advantage but it's hard to control (just like all "extra BR's")

my time so far is 34.5x - 3br - fury

I used the br at end of 1st mag-strip (pheaton's vid)
and the boost-br onto 2nd mag-strip (yeldar's vid)

I was trying to shortcut the left-hander without a boost (also Yeldar's vid).
Does anybody know if this is possible on venom speed? So far I succeeded zero but I haven't mastered that 1st br yet.

34.12 - 2BR now. Much better. Really going to try and get in the 33's. You really have to get a bit of height at the shortcut in order to miss out the right-hand bend, if you can land pointing at the mag strip you're laughing.

Still cant do the double br, would increase it by a tenth or so, but im pretty pleased with that time none the less.
