I never was a big fan of some of the colour schemes but, while almost everything is open to interpretation, I can't help but feel you've stretched that a bit far. The amount of time spent from Rapier to Phantom isn't particularly long. I think if the design were trying to punish your masculinity somehow it would surely make you put up with more feminine colours for longer, colours which are only really feminine by association anyway. I can't think that it's any more of an affront to someone's masculinity than the rest of the game is to femininity, what with all the big engines and big explosions etc. Rapier is just a speed class, and has been for some time. I've lived with plenty of girls and can genuinely say I've never experienced the "rotten volcanic acrimony of a woman's emotions during her period". If you can honestly find that kind of meaning from simple colours, which I believe in the past have been associated more with masculinity than femininity, then I think it reflects more deeply on you as an individual than either the design of the game, woman as a group, or indeed men as a group. I can think many men would find that sort of interpretation from the colours in zone mode simply because they are male.

Still, it's an interesting POV, even if I don't think it's one I could ever personally appreciate.

So close, LurifaxFlux. I hope you do it the old-school way, on Anulpha Pass.
Anyways, enjoy the moment the transition to supersonic takes place.

About the feminine coloring; Well, there is indeed a certain feminine touch esp.
    for some of the Fury color schemes. Here is an example;

It looks girly, but I have to say, I'm all for it and I like it, which doesn't mean
that I wouldn't also be very pleased to see much more aggressive schemes
than the one we already got. As a man I would possibly never come up with
such a color scheme seen in the picture above and as such it somehow
enriches my horizon in a given way. The feminine touch kindly softens the
experience and makes a ZONE run very smooth and steady. Most games are
done by males and you can see their handwritings in every corner, which
becomes boring at times. Letting a woman do the coloring is a pretty good idea.
A woman may base their choice of colors on a certain harmony, and harmony
is obviously an essential part of ZONE. Anyways, it would pretty cool if we could
choose a certain set of color schemes depending on one's mood.

The only complain I really have is the lack of color schemes beyond supersonic.
Despite I like Fury's creme velvet color scheme, it becomes a bit boring to see
it for about 75 zones. There aren't even any equalizer marks on the track.
Equalizer marks do somehow enhance the perception of the velocity. Sometimes,
while being beyond zone 100 on Syncopia, I think the craft stands still at certain
locations because the creme velvet pattern, locally, repeats at a frequency that
triggers my mind to believe that the whole thing has become stationary. This
    shouldn't be the case.

You see girly, I see awesome. I guess I'm just not deep enough to find such meaning in things. Ah well, time to get back to my knitting.

ProblemSolver: Yeah I'm doing it on Anulpha Pass.
I actually made it to Zone 73 on a previous try before the photo.
Last "session of tries" I had, some weeks ago or so, I made it to 66 and 67, so I'm definitely gonna get it soon.
Last time I tried Syncopia (long time ago I think) I just kept flying outside the bridge thingy at higher speeds.

I did Airbreaker on Mallavol a while ago, way easier than Anulpha Pass cause at higher speeds it's really hard to stay on the bridge, or to avoid the walls in the tight spot.
Same scenario there, got at around Zone 48 twice before completing it.

About the colours, I love the neon green (?) at Super Phantom (?), would like to see more of those "extreme" colours hehe.
I agree that that it would be nice with different colour schemes.

Btw am I the only one who enjoys a Zone Battle once in a while?
    So few are playing it.

I am not opposed to feminine color combinations in Zone and even commented in the other thread how beautiful I thought it was when I made a rich purple Zen. Also, I definitely don't separate femininity from aggression. Rapier's combination of pink and red looks to me very symbolic of feminine aggression.

Purple is a "cooler" color temperature-wise and so does not look so much like an aggressive affront as the higher energy red and pink.

I don't think the balance of colors is appropriate. Everything Zen and above is mostly grey and black. You get some blue in Super-Phantom and red Subsonic which closely balance each other out, but other than that it's mostly nothing. The whole experience below Zen seems quite imbalanced toward feminine. Blues and greens are quick to end while purples, pinks, and reds last much longer by comparison.

I'd be interested if there were some random element. Not completely random, since some colors are of course generally unappealing together, but out of some predetermined set of combinations and themes, perhaps even occurring after random zones here and there to keep you on your toes, and not just after a change in speed class.

I think you may be more concerned about enjoying life instead of classifying it into little dead boxes.

Plenty of blue in most of those pics, actually, yeldar.

Zone mode is life? Hey, you said it. Or implied it.

Pretty sure you have that the other way around! No offense to anyone who does not cheat on AP.

Woah woah woah, you can cheat on Anulpha Pass? I always thought Syncopia was the easy way out, no narrow bottlenecks etc...

Within the last few days there was at least one server hosting a Zone Battle
game (at around 5pm - 9pm GMT). And the room was almost full, yesterday.
So I think, if you gonna host a Zone Battle game, then I'm pretty sure someone
    will join.

Zone Battle needs some more work on the framerate, esp. on the Fury tracks.
The shuttering is terrible at times. Unfortunately, the 'contender eliminated'
framedrop carries over to Zone Battle. Meh!

    I love Zone Battle too.
My highest zone was only 88 on Syncopia.

    I think I just did:

That was 106 zones on Syncopia, and the score was 250571.
