Usually when you use the lips to perform BRs, you slow down when you climb the lip, it can sometimes be compensated by the extra boost given by the BR, but i'm sure that your line has to be as close as the best one to make it advantageous (and it works only on venom/flash, i think not in rapier and i'm sure not in phantom). As an example on tech de ra reverse it can be advantageous because when you climb the lips of the left side you also cut the turn so your line is very good.
