By the way, it will be -definitely- my last event. But guess what? The great Dark_phantom_89 accepted the maintenance of the federation after this one. I'm really glad to know this stuff will keep going. So again, BIG THX to you Dark_phantom_89.

I wish I had been able to participate in the christmas one D: I crashed my car the second week of december, so Ive been at the mercy of friends to drive me one place to another. The entire christmas Avalon weekend I was stuck at my friends' place without access or attention-span for Wipeout :/

I'll be back at school in a week; maybe I'll be able to find access to unblocked internet for this one in february.

The car is 15 years old, I'm not going to repair the body work. Other than that;
- replace tire and rim (bent rim in accident)
- replace part of brake line on right rear
- check rear alignment
- bolt generic tail-lights to trunk and rewire

shouldn't cost too much. Have to do it out of my pocket, though, because insurance will total the car. I'm lucky I didn't break any glass, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the hassle. I just need to make it legal to drive again.

All I suffered was a bruised ego, because it SUCKS not having a car lol

On topic now, and maybe you guys noticed it, ACE-FLO & Dark_Phantom joined the host crew. I'm thinking about a way to integrate the ELO rankings too for this event, thanks to TorquedSoul (YAWL ELO social group/ WEBSITE). We're trying to find a way to add more feedback to the billions of races we'll play during this week-end, in order to give more weight to the "magec academy"; I mean last event of course Yeldar owned the competition, but a lot of pilots were really awesome too, that's why I think it could be great to introduce ELO rankings. We're working on it.

Finally, I would like to thank all the people who are still playing this game, or pure, or pulse, even if they don't give a f**k about me & my crazy doggedness to organize tournaments. At least we have something in common; we know wipeout is the best game ever.

For me, I'd rather not have all races count, as it would take the friendly vibe away a bit. Well it wouldn't really. It would still be friendly and fun, but I always get a bit more edgy if the results actually 'matter' for any reason. I would rather just have a tonne of races where winning or losing didn't matter, so that I can chill out between the (already intense) races. It's more about all being online at the same time anyway I think. Not to mention the shear amount of effort it would take to record the results, even if result input is simple. If there are special events at certain times that are included in ELO rankings, then that could be cool. I think that would be the best way anyway, otherwise people would be jumping in and out between races (some who are on the YAWL site and some who aren't), and I think it would get too messy.

Yeah I'm sharing your point of view Sat, you summed up well the spirit, a world wipeout party, without boundaries. But this time I'll have the opportunity to "live" in world of wipeout during 3 days, and I'll have the support of my mate kaori directly at home; so I think there's a possibility to put some kind of ELO WORLD HOST (eh eh) at some point during the week-end. So we could keep the classic -worldwide open- organization (overall mvp & magec academy), & add specified ranged events for ELO rankings, for the ones who subscribed in TorquedSoul website/social group.
Finally, my point is; I've always worked out to avoid dissipation on too many different things, I know this community isn't as big as the modern warfare one for example, so trying to unite all the good will was always my goal. I've never saw the avalon racing league as the way to flatter my ego, tbh I really don't care, one day I'll move on and I'll turn off the lights. Sometimes I'm desperate to see we're 325 members now, and I'm almost the only one to set up stuffs. I'm 32 now, not an uni student anymore, so I'm really running out of time. Ok sorry guys, I'm stopping my rant now, I'm at the job, one day they'll find out I'm spending my day here lol, so I should chill out a little & disconnect.

I guess having a general social hosts, and one official AvELOn Leauge host on at the same time, or particular times, could work well. There's still quite a while to decide on something. I'm sure you'll come up with something good anyway. That's probably the reason why no-one else really organises - because you do such a good job. I think that people also would be afraid to 'step on your toes' as it's very much your event in most people's eyes. So in that way it's really a compliment I think.

Maybe people will do more of this type of thing in future as interest in the game dwindles. I think it may already be starting to happen.

I look back at the past Avalon threads and read on the first posts that we should PM you if we think you've gone mad And we did to tell you how much we appreciate you bringing us avalon - the uniting force responsible for bringing every pilot into a monthly gathering of online racing/cruising together. Pulse, HD / Fury - you worked it man! I remeber you joining the Pulse avalon sessions with us, MSN too - What a great laugh that was (sigh)

On occasion, you have also hinted to us that you are getting busier with life, we can all appreciate that - thing is, I find it amazing that as a married man, with all the reponsibilties of everyday life, hitting the 30's (more responsibilites) and managing social life/family life/work life - how you still manage to consistently give us avalon is like... WOW man! You hardcore!
