Yea, I agree, Kigo. USB keyboard is the bomb-diggity. Most of the time I sit at the PC with the PS3 on though (listening to music, etc). When I get a message, I either need to "text" back or get up and use the keyboard. Blah. So I was curious about that little gadget. Depending on price (which I havent researched yet) Ill probably pick one up sometime before the weeks end.

been thinking about it too, but I'll probably just end up getting a wireless usb keyboard, logitech make(what looks to be) a great keyboard for the PS3 that has a track pad built into it (found it), but its a bit pricey so I'll probably end up getting a cheap M$ keyboard

Wireless keyboards are great. I started out on the internet with WebTV, which had wireless keyboards as their standard, although they had a PS2 connector for IBM-and-clones wired keyboards on the back. What was extra cool about their keyboard was that WebTV had an extra keyboard command layer and a third extra button to use it just as you did with alt and ctrl. It gave you international 'accent' marks for multiple languages plus other symbols, too. But anyway, yeah, wireless is the way to go if your situation allows it.

    Had a splitting headache from 11:00 - 19:30...
Got told that as of 13/11/09 @ 17:30 I will no longer have a job...

Basically just a pretty **** day.

Yes, yes, no swearing, whatever, I'll edit my post tomorrow

Took 5hrs to get to work because there was a fatal accident on the A3 this morning so they closed the road when I was on it. seeing people walking around on a motorway is just weird. ~15mile tailback I think, possibly more...
Too many cigs + loud music + stress from being 3 1/2 hrs late for work = headache
Our tech support team is being reduced from 36 people down to 4-5 people because there aren't enough email/phone queries coming in. I'm new-ish so I got the boot along with some others

No need to edit. Sometimes even I find it's justified. Even if it wasn't I probs wouldn't mind. I've settled in and chilled out now, I hope.

That sounds like a harsh day. It's not even Friday 13th yet. Make sure to get a good ref. if you can. Having only been there such a short time, that might look bad on your CV, which is totally the opposite of what you want. Although I am speculating to be honest, as I've thankfully not been in that position. Just would hate to see it end up a bad thing after all the effort.

It sucks that it's over already as you seemed to be enjoying it. Don't they have to give you more notice than that?

Yes they are supposed to but they're been having issues recently. They probs would have told me earlier if I hadn't been so late...
Actually it's because I was so awesome that the backlog of emails (which has been backlogged for about a years) has been cleared

Let me get this straight - they fired you because of an accident that you have/ had absolutely no influence over?

Complete BS. I'd be glad to leave if I were you.

mdhay - I get the impression it might have been coincidental. A loss of 80 % (-ish) of the department is bound to see the new guys go, even if it's just because they'll give less hassle over it than the longer serving ones. If yeldar did them as much of a favour as he says then I think they should take a gamble on potential personally. He can't be too expensive to hire I wouldn't have thought (no offense - my situation is the same), so potentially could save them money in the long run.

I didn't read that bit as much. Yeah, they [corporations] care more about money then their employees getting them it.

Well I'm a temp and there's no longer enough work to warrant having 36 people their so only the senior know-it-all (satnav-wise) people are staying on. emails are going to become automated too so there's no need for us there either....

Bit of a shame really, I quite liked it there

nevermind Yeldar, schitt happens mate. I got my notice a month ago. As of mid January, i'll be moving from paper to electronic media lol. Something I have no experience in, and my job title will change too. I'll be a Feature Planner and Advertising manager. I hate selling ad space, the feature planning is the fun part of the job...but I won't be involved with the Energy Supply/Turbo Machinery projects in my new role, they got me to agree to work on our failing Shipping portfolio of clients... should be fun, not! I'm gonna start looking for an alternative, I don't really fancy working on the shipping/freight projects, not really feeling it tbh.

EDIT: the hours are messed up too! One week out of four, I have to get business from th US, which means working nights... this is gonna mess me up silly.

Upon trying to access Playstation Store on my PS3: "This service is not available in your country/region"

I'm in the UK you fool and I've used you before!

Get the same on my other UK-based account...

Anyone else getting this? Is it down for maintenance?

    Default Moderator message.

Those last four posts sound suspiciously like they're really about WipEout.

I quote from the title of this very thread. "Chat about anything that's not WipEout."
