    boost at the bridge.
My lap looks like this but in rapier: Video courtesy of pacman

@your vid: your lines seem fine you just need to boost + nose down at the bridge, not boost where you're boosting atm (too much airtime etc..)
Love Woop Dee Doop, great tune.

    P.S. TDRR Flash vid uploading.

This + I also use the speed pad on the far left in the tunnel after the 2 grouped speeds pads. To recover my line I side swift to the right on this pad. To add to that, side swift everywhere you can as it minimizes your steering input! Side shifting on speed pads seems to gain you a slight speed advantage compared to just going over them.

PS: can't watch that pac video, it's private.

    yeah, private video :/

"boost at the bridge" as in before, at the crest, or after? I feel like if I boost right before it or as I'm going off, I hang in the air way too long- is this why I'd need to nose down as well? I just turned off my ps3 for now because I have to do classwork

Go off the bridge, point your nose down, and boost in the air. Aim to land close to the inside wall on the last turn. You'll get a really nice landing and really clean boost

Fame at last, thanks . I can't see where i was losing time really but your start looked a lot smoother than mine.

I'll get round to this weeks one at some point, I've spent the last three days in bed with what I thought was swine flu, only to be told today that I have tonsillitis, hurts like hell.

Thx for the vid. The only thing you did different than me was raise you head up and boost over the speed pad going up the hill, I always stayed low and used that pad. Maybe that's the difference? Probably not

    Back to this week's challenge: 22.17 - 12 pads - 2 BR - Triakis+

I can now do the BR in the tunnel after the drop. Except I nail it about 15% of the time and when I do the proceeding two left handers end up being totally **** and my ghost catches up with me

    Thanks for uploading it =p

You went a lot smoother than me over the lips (that sounds great, huh ), I usually connect with the 2nd and 3rd, probably on the 3rd because I didn't sideshift off it as much as ride straight over it.
Plus I was like Rezatron, and went low in the tunnel to collect the speedpad on most occasions, plus I handled the last corner a little differently but I don't think they were major contributors to the overall time compared to how you handled the lips. I'll have to give it another go some time

Got a lovely 22.29 with 11 pads and 3 BRs. Shaved off .52 from my time thanks to the third one

And by the way Leungbok, I noticed you push your nose down when going over a speed pad in your last video showing the BR after the first drop. Am I imagining you doing it or does it really make a difference?

{EDIT}Wait... Yeldar maybe you can answer this as well. Since it's you who posted the video. Oh hell anybody can answer. Damnit I need sleep...

^^It don't changes your speed, but it can help to prevent bouncing sometimes

In fact this BR is easier at lower speed

"big butts" lol Change your view, get the one that's further away from the ship and you can see fine. I don't understand how people use the close view at all, I feel like my face is being burnt off by the ion stream.

Also, the BR at the first drop is easy as pie, how can people not pull it off?

There was some confusion before AG, I was referring to the second possible BR in the tunnel after the drop. See leungbok's video in post #185. Of course the first BR is easy

I'm struggling with this week's challenge. Modesto Heights is a pretty tough course, plus I haven't really worked that hard on it before this challenge - and I don't think the Triakis is helping! I swapped over to the HD version because the Fury one is just too big, heavy and generally unpleasant to use... not that the HD one is a dream

As it is, I don't really know how to significantly outdo my current best of 22.72. Even after viewing those videos, I don't see where I'm going so wrong, other than perhaps skipping the BR at the start of the tunnel.
