PSPgo is a no-go for sure. No need to try it. It's just an epic fail.

That's gotta be a NightArh term! I love it man!

But you know what I don't love? that PSP-Go - it's smaller screen size and unfortunate placement of buttons is a bit naff. But not as naff as it's rrp. So I ended up getting a PS3 Slim for roughly the same cost. However, that involves a new TV so costs are going up anyway - kinda negating my point here but...

I was really looking forward to upgrading my PSP this year, didnt want the 3k coz of the interlacing problems, didnt want to settle for the 2k - wanted something better, and the Go isn't really what I had in mind. I hear rumours from peeps about a 4000? I don't know anything about a 4000 but if anyone has got any official information that would be awesome.

    is all...

PSPgo IS a PSP4000 imo. There'll be three more models of PSP, that's how someone saw in the fw code or something.

really? I was under the impression that Sony wasn't going to be making PSPees with UMD drives anymore. Didn't Sony want all PSP games to be purchased as downloads only from PSN store in future? I mean, I've already seen shops reduce the shelf space for PSP games, and every month it seems that space is getting smaller...

... So, if the 4000 is not the Go, then can you link me the sight you got this info from? Sounds interesting enough for me to get hoping!

I think the PSP-Go is just a branch off the 3000 PSP, in order to see how much demand there is in the digital market. A PSP-4000 with some additional features like bluetooth and integrated flash memory would be great.

NightArh pasted a link in my VMs which proved useful, regarding speculation of the 4000. It seems Sony have no plans to develop it as yet, preferring to get rid of the UMD format due to it not gaining popularity amongst other media types. They had similar probs with betamax and mini-disc back in the day... Seems they shoot themselves in the foot all too often

I don't think a 4000 with a UMD slot is on the cards for now. We have the psp Go, and I think that's where it's at for Sony.

BETA Tape and Mini-Discs where fails formats from Sony. Gotta say they successful pretty well a few years back when they won the format war against HD-DVD and Blu-Ray prevailed. Sony appears to be learning from there mistakes, excessive marketing is the key. Funny i should mention that, just look at the 2.10 update for the WOHD.

Ill buy a 3000 if there is no 4000 with UMD, unless there is a definate way to transfer my entire UMD game stash over the the Go's solid slate memory, either way, im staying with the UMD PSP's in the mean time.

I might get one as early as next week! A 3k because it's hard work locating a 2k in my 'distracted' state of mind...

Um, at the risk of sounding dumb, I ask 'what are the main differences between the 2k and the 3k?' I only know of the interlacing problem on the 3k, beside that - to me, the 2 units seem the same otherwise...

    ... Someone - educate me!

Well, the PSP 3000 does have a more versatile video-out, a built in mic (), and there's the screen. From what I've seen, the display is sharper and brighter than on a 2000, and also has a quicker response time (less ghosting), but a lot of people have complained about this interlacing/scanlines problem. It seems not everybody notices this though, so I'd recommend trying one with a few different games to see if you do. Oh, and the casing is more rounded than the 2000 too.
It is limited in other ways though, which is why personally I'd always go for the right model of 2000.

Aah, ok. Cool then. I'll get the 3k and check it out. I looked in a few shops for a 2k but they're discontinued now, apparently. The 3k doesn't seem too bad actually - I just hope I don't have that problem with the interlacing. Oh, and that brighter screen thing is a nice touch! Less headache/eyestrain hopefully

It'll have to be on Blu-ray to get WOHD at all, if you can't get digital downloads. I'm pretty sure the PS3 is region-free for games though, like the PSP, so you could order it from somewhere online if it's not available in your region.

edit: but nvm that - Pulse is the game to play! Pure is pretty good too, but hard as **** to learn to play.

Not so sure, but I sure am desperate for a PS3(any model is fine,I think) and a PSP-3000.I have a (kinda) large collection of PSP games on UMD.I saw that the asian playstation website said that the Blu-Ray Edition was realeased on October 16 2009.The shared PSP-1000 stragely freezes up when I put in a UMD.
I am posting a lot more since this is the school holidays(till next year).
I really do not think I will get both(or even either) as getting Distinction (A1,A2.Singaporeans on this forum, please help elaborate!!!!)is REALLY tough for me(oh yeah,I'm a pessimist). Then again,I really think next year will be the last year I play video games(streaming in Secondary 2,I'm Sec 1.Singaporeans please help elaborate!)
As I said you will very very very rarely see me online(Once in,I dunno,18 months?).Anyway,my TV is 40" HD.
And I still have to write that damn blog on characters(Teams,to be exact.Check the Imagine a new WipEout team.... thread.)
    And I think I digressed.
