The Speed Lap Challenge

Fastest Phantom (that i know of): 4-5 BRs
Fastest Venom (ditto): 8 BRs

For a given amount of airtime at venom speed you wouldn't travel as far as you would at phantom speed if you'd stayed on the track so the boost gained relative to the distance that would otherwise have been covered is much greater at venom speed.

When does the challenge finish, i.e. how long do I have to find out what yeldar did and copy him?

I did find one method of doing as many barrel rolls as yeldar, but I'm sure it can't possibly be as fast - based on my limited Phantom knowledge.

The challenges each last 1 week, so this one will finish at 7.15pm on Sunday

Great job yeldar, I don't know how you do those barrel rolls when sideshifting to the left - my fingers get confused and I mess it up! I can barrel roll if I shift to the right, but not left

Nice lap, Yeldar ! For the 6th br, i gave up doing it, it's seems slower than hitting the left speedpad, even at venom speed

What leungbok said. You gain too much air, its best just to hit the pads.
You can 3 BRs at the start too which is quicker .Pitch up down at the start line.

I think I'll leave it at 30.57 for now...speed lap in EG-X is confusing

@Yeldar & Xbarnsternx, as br addicts, another challenge inside the challenge, mates ! It's possible to do 12 br in one lap on chengou project at venom speed (maybe flash, didn't tried). I've no time to record a video actually, due to my worktime
But you both (and shapealot, phaeton and maybe some other crazy pilots) are skilled enough to pull them all !
Not sure that a 12 br per lap is faster than 9, but it can makes an amazing and entertaining video

I've come to the conclusion that the barrel rolls pulled off by yeldar are impossible for me, so I'll be sticking to my 33.78 time by the looks of things.

At one point I did 4 BRs on the left hander. It was in no way intentional - I just lost control a bit. But I had a really bad start and it almost caught me straight up to my ghost. With those I can just about see how 12 is possible, but can't help but think I might still be missing out on something. Ever done 13 leungbok?

Not in one lap yet mate ^^ I've already done 11 with uggly lines and some wall hits ! I don't spend sufficient time on venom/flash speed, but sometimes for fun i try a lot of tricks on those speedclasses on hd & fury tracks. For what i have experienced on chengou at venom speed, the fastest lap must be done with 10 br (the 3 others are fun but you can't do them with the best lines and you sometimes miss some faster speedpads).
I did my current laptime on chengou venom with 7 br, using bsb. But i tried a simple boost/br at the start (like Yeldar on his vid), with 2 brs using the bouncing before the left hairpin and it's faster than bsb . For the left hander, some brs (3 or 4) are faster if you can stay low (nose down after the first br).
With 10 brs, sub 30.00 is reachable
For the 12 or 13 : Boost/br at the start, 2 other brs using the bouncing before the left hairpin, 1 br on each platform, left sideshift when you land to perform a first br on the left hander, 2 or 3 other br until the tunnel, br using the little wall, br using the bump with a right sideshift, br at the big jump, when you land target the right pad and boost, br in the last chicane using the speed of the boost (it's seems slower than the "Fbj's classic" mid-air boost/br at the big jump however ).
If i find some time one day i'll try to record a video, except if another crazy spinner do it before !

I think with icaras+ you'll get sub 30 with only 8 BRs, easy peasy

Hey guys, I was thinking: If I accidently drop a beer bottle on the track, can you BR on it?

My best lap so far:
start+BR - BR over hill - going straight into the hairpin wall - 2brs on jump - flying all over the lefthander (since I use pitch for the 1st time) - br at end of righthander - br on jump.

which gave me a 38sec 6br lap
