Partly true on wikipedia then, then again wikipedia can be edited, and be full of **** in some circumstances . Aussies have been using this term for a while now to describe English people, dont ask me the origins of that term, cause i have no ****ing clue at all where it came from.

If I remember correctly (I've had a long day at work and got 4 hrs sleep the night before), the word 'pom' came from the acronym POHM, Prisoner Of Her Majesty. How this got changed around to describe the English is beyond me, though.
