Got my 1st #1
Amphesium reverse: 58/42, previous record was 5 zones higher but 5 less perfect zones. Prolly won't last long as I see no problemsolver or wotan in the rankings. But nice to achieve it![]()

I dont think the problem is the fact that its not 60FPS the entire time. I think its because you lack training on Twisty levels.
When the FPS cuts I dont have a problem. Do you need 60FPS that badly to race?
not necessarily but i was zoning today and it was proper offputting when the FPS dropped...ruins the flow and that...
I totally agree with you PS. Less geometry for stable 60fps would be better. Like the panda on the ubermall track, I'm not sure if it's to improve fps but it's not visible in zone mode. It appears if you switch to photo mode.
nice reezy I wanted to get carro-armato but you were faster
as for fps it's even worse in split screen with two player :/ we played yesterday with a friend and it was not smooth at all, be it in race or in zone battle
[edit] What was your score by the way?
I thought it was zeusable but now I'm a bit worried, at mach1 speed you can hit the start panel when you land after the jump![]()

Damn, very nice! I only beat Carro by a couple thousand. ~146k I think.
Do you not use Connovar's site? I added your score on it.
I do but the edit function is broken so for now I'm on wipeoutrecords.com, hoping the pure4 will be added, I proposed to help fix this issue but hasn't received a reply, wait & see
[edit] wait a minute, how did you edit my score ?I couldn't edit it myself

lol, I've never had a problem with the site. Only in the 2 days when it came back online maybe, but after that it's been fine for me.
You have to make sure you're logged in otherwise the edit does nothing.
Do any of the big boys have any tips for regaining control when things go tits up?
I was having a go at syncopia yesterday at was at 100% around zone 80-something. i crashed and nearly burned, was at 5% because i couldn't stop myself from pinballing all over teh shop.
thankfully i fell off on the open section so i got a nice restart (going the right way) and subsequently got 2 perfect laps then did the same thing again, then 1 perfect lap, then death.... any advice?
Prime example: wotan's regain of control here is mighty impressivezone 102, 0:46
well, as we said in the other zone zeus thread, things aren't easy at all, cuz you have to force yourself doing the opposite of what you would naturally do !
When you go into a wall, the reflex is to go the opposite way, but the problem here is that the wall makes you bounce in the opposite way too, so when you hit a wall, you have to aim this wall to go straight again.
This requires a lot of practice IMO and I still don't master it very well :/
another thing that can help you too, is to aim as far as you can see on the track, with the parallaxe and such things you're not likely to "over-correct" your line.
Hope this can help you
@reezy: what browser are you using? I tried with arora, firefox under linux, chrome, firefox under windows, seems like it doesn't like webkit and gecko :s
Those cheater guys are now erased from the anulpha pass zone table yet?
Amazingly i am in the top100 syncopia zone mode wow.
@Reezy: Good work. I don't race Amphesium revers anytime soon. Wait...! xD
Ah, sh1kamaru- already got you. Sad.
Says who? The framedrop problem was dicussed long ago. It's not just me.
Some people get used to everything. Not me, sorry. Every pro zoner needs
60fps. Try beating a tough record, or set a new oustanding one, and you will
know.
There was once this massive framedrop on Metropia last corner. It really takes
you out at zone 60+. Those missing frames makes all the difference. I wrote
about this long ago. And still, there are even those random micro freezes that
last for about 1/10th of a second, which are even worser than the framedrops.
@yeldar2097: How Wotan regain control at 0:46 is easy for him, coz it can get
much worser. I want to add to sh1kamaru- last post; The most important thing
here is to know how the craft will bounce back upon hitting a wall. You must
be able to predict the path from an impact point. If you know this then you
can adjust your steering the second it happens. This is something you will only
get from experience. And once you have that experience it comes down to your
reflexes.
@Cyberio: No, they are not.![]()
Additionaly, the Pure4 leaderboard doesn't update at all whereas my Modesto
record was updated within minutes. Strange.
@sh1kamaru- I use firefox on windows, and told it to save my password. With IE I had log in problems.
My first place on Anulpha Pass R and my third place on Sebenco Climb I did last week have not been updated either.
I am glad to see that I'm not the only one to be bothered by the framerate drop. A few month ago I thought my PS3 was broken because I asked some other player and it seemed that I was the only one to notice the problem on Metropia. It shocked me back then because I changed from a SD TV to a 1080p HD and the bug is more visible in 1080p.
Btw, I did 57/37 on Modesto! Thanks Wotan for the tips, it helped.

Managed to get to Zone 102 and break the 300k barrier on Corridon12. Also did a 103 but worse score.
Why is it that Pro Tozo and C12 update immediately yet Syncopia and Mallavol haven't changed for weeks.
Its not just zone scores either, set some decent MP rapier scores the other day and these haven't updated. I know there is the Wipeout rankings site but I just don't understand why some tracks are updating within minutes and others not updating in weeks. Poor show
maybe there's a load balancer between several databases located on different server, and one of them is down, just an idea![]()
Thanks for the Zone Battle info ProblemSolver, I never really fully understood the finer points of Zone Battle. The ingame description is a bit limited and the AI is easy to beat, even on elite difficulty - so I never really got any stratagy to speak of and ended up getting left for dead in online zone battles! I'd race a good line, hit all the speed pads and be left wondering how I got beaten by 20 zones!
After reading your tips I went online and raced a few Zone Battles and won more often than not!
Cheers!
@robanddee: I'm glad that my description could improve your Zone Battle skills.![]()
zone 95...clear
gahhhhh it's so close i can taste it! come here you pesky 100!
Thanks for the advice on regaining control PS, helped me a lot![]()
You're aiming for 100, eh?
What track, as I plan on nipping at your heels.
