I want to add to my previous post that the subject considered is a very
delicate one. There are many ways one can hit a wall in ZONE and each
way may behave differently. The one I described is the one that you
will encounter the most if your are rather good at zoning. It occurs most
often upon hitting a wall in an acute angle at less than 20 degrees on
speeds like for example SUBSONIC+. In this case the craft sticks to the
wall without reacting to any steering input for a very short period of time.
For example, try to hit the wall on Metropia's mag stripe as explained
above (you will even see how the craft rotates a bit into the wall once
you hit). Now try to steer, to airbrake, or to side-shift away from the
wall the moment you hit. Not a chance. It takes awhile before the craft
is done with the wall. xD
@Reezy: Right, this solves the problem for hard impacts at 30+ degrees.
Straightening out the craft using the airbrakes (out of a corner) is a
common usage. What I have described is a bit more differently. Try the
following; at high speeds (SUBSONIC+) align the craft on a color stripe,
once aligned try to steer and / or airbrake as less as possible and then try
to realign the craft. You need a lot of precision (in your thumb) to get that
right. Problem is, when you give a *very* small steering input the craft often
turns (suddenly) more than you would expect.
@silverfox073: I lucked a perfect lap at MACH 1, but no SUPERSONIC yet. xD
Zone 75 will gonna be very hard, as well as doing 50 perfect zone needed to
get there.
@sh1kamaru-: I do also watch billboards and things.
