iv read alot of negative posts about this latest patch and i empathize with you but personally since 1.40 iv had nothin but great times on HD, once iv gotten into a stable game (which has been quite easy for me) iv had close good races, Also i quite like the ranking system because its atracted more racers. I for one was brought back to hd due to the new features ps i wouldnt consider my self a stat whore or a retard

froste, I think new tracks are probably the only thing that wouldn't cause all this stuff from happening. I would take new tracks over any other stuff that has been put in the game already, 20 laps, assist, even if they did work correctly. Just note that even if you are having a good game, someone on the other end is probably saying, @%$@%$#. Either that, or it is possible the people who are not having problems never play offline any more, so it doesn't seem as bad.

ADDED: It does to have seem to have affected offline as well. In time trial, I had a microfreeze, for sure it felt like the ones online, but alot shorter, and didn't affect my game, however this did not happen before. Also, the inputs are not working sometimes, albeit a smaller amount than online. It does affect the game a little though, but is certainly still fun to play. It makes the handling feel "different", but I do not think it is, I think the inputs are not registering by the feel of it. yes You can still get record times, but that is because everyone is getting better. Why in the heck would 1.4 be affecting offline play? maybe there is more to it than spectator mode that is causing some of this.

The dead weapon pads are really, REALLY starting to get on my nerves.
Normally i'd try and laugh it off, but im quite a competative soul....

I hope they fix it soon, today was the first time i rage quitted in a long, long time sorry yeldar...

And to be honest, the more i get beatern by more ludcrious jumps being discovered, the more im tempted to go back to pulse... bring back invisable walls!

If by ludicrous jumps you mean shortcuts, then there's nothing stopping anyone from learning them and doing them. They generally come with a pretty high associated risk factor.

I suppose I reallly should play online some more to see what's so wrong online.

I've experienced dead weapon pads and the freezing before, but it's never been enough to really.. bother me? I've never been one to complain, the only issues I ever had with the patch was that it didn't allow me to get into the game first try.

As far as the barrel roll problems go, I think it's more or less been the same the whole time, all I really do are offline Singleplayer Races and i've always had some issues being able to pull them off, as far as offline goes, i never had much issue doing them. However, I hope the issues do get fixed for others and I do believe SL will fix them in time. The broken weapon pads feel as if they're a problem with lag, but it's hard to tell.

On another note, the Lemmings were a funny addition to the Zone mode, but i'm sure they were distracting to most. ;D

i hope that's not me you're talking about, i never use shortcuts, honest

i know the feeling all too well...it's these bloody french shortcut pioneers, they're ridiculous

vista pads were annoying today but more annoying was some dickhead backmarker that destroyed an otherwise perfect race. bastard!

i must say even tho im reasonably new to wohd the dead weapon pads are seriously grating on me
another thing ive noticed is sometimes i get a whole race full of only one type of weapon.not sure if thats luck of the draw? something somewhere not doing what it should be doing? only happens online tho....

gotta report the good with the bad. Last night was so crappy I almost didn't want to ever play again besides at the tourney in june, but tonight, it played flawless for me. 8 races vs various people without a hitch, NONE. As good as time trial. Can the game be changed without a download? Anyway, It was really fun racing tonight, after about 3-4 nights of practicing frustration instead. Wonder why?

Excuse us to push the game further than your skills

Oh, and it seems that you're able to use the ludcrious jumps too sometimes http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&h...&v=DHn_6LMGBeI

@ Haydn : There isn't glitch or cheat on multiplayer races , but there is best places to use a boost , that's all . This is the game .

    err... no.
There are so many problems with the ECS system you can't even imagine.
-Number 1 is you take no damage when you hit it.
-How 'bout Pilot assist is enough, all right? There's no need for any stinking "Sorry, you are not allowed to fall off here" system. Then what, if you have it, just manage to land on the wall (Not hard at all with HD's floaty feeling) and grind with a turbo through the whole turn. Now we have "wall assist" or something like that, great. More stuff to be abused by newbies.

Why do you think there's no ECS system in HD? Because PurE's (and HD's) system was/is better.

Anyone notice the Autopilots are stupid in HD also??

They seem to make you fly off the track, also they miss all the speed pads as well.

I used an autopilot in Moa Therma both in Pulse and HD in the exact same spot.
The HD one miss all the speed pads, but in Pulse it went over them fine.

    All of studio Liverpool

1.40 patches for Japan came! The freeze during a race is relaxed.
Some Japanese players return to online in this.

    Thank you!!

Autopilot in HD always fixes you to the center of the track.

It should be aligning you not to the center of the track, but rather to the best racing line, with the maximum amount of speed pads, like in all the other Wipeout games, even on the PS1 as well as the PSP titles too.

What i do when i pic up an Autopilot in a dire situation in an online race... i say **** it, and absorb opposed to using it, and being ****ed over in the process of using it. Its only really good in the final bend on Ubermall, and the two final big chicanes on Sol2, but thats pretty much is it.

The place where you really needed an autopilot was not in HD, but in Pulse, on the horrendous 3 tight 180 degree turns on the start of Outpost7. God that track was insane.

I found that Autopilot generally follows the middle of the track but it's not a given. Most of the time it sucks. I'd rather hit speed pads or weapons pick ups and that usually won't happen with AP. However I have found that if you use it after the last mag-strip on Moa it'll allow you to hit the last two speed pads pretty effectively.
