The Barrel Roll On/Off option sounds like a nice compromise for those who like/don't like BR's (or like me that suck at high speed Rapier/Phantom online races and are half a lap behind the multi-BR racers). The 20 lap race limit (if weapons are on) sounds like a good way to have a mini Eliminator style mode going. I can see setting a few 7, 10, 15, 20 lap races at Flash or Rapier and having an easier time slowly getting the 50 Online Kills trophy.
Finally got the Double Kill Trophy last time I played 2 nights ago after 30+ hours of single player. Also got the 8 race Skilled/Elite Tournament trophy too woohoo! Still can't get that last tournament medal in Meltdown so I can try for Bling Brigade.

The changelog has popped up under "Announcements" in the online lobby.
The game doesn't update when you launch it yet though.
