    On picture 4 >>> http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...bL._SS400_.jpg
the half screen of 1 player is so wide that if you cut it in two you can easily have
4 squares with the same dimensions of a normal tv screen = 4 players on one ps3.
I'm still hoping for a 4 player mode even if they make it with Only Bumpers Cam view
(may be also a view where you see only the nose of the ship?!)
Like choose between 2 players with no cpu, 2 players with 4 cpu or just 4 players. All on one ps3/tv!
All this assuming that we are not gonna get Infrastructure
Best scenario of course - getting 2 pl, 4 pl and infrastructure! That would be awesome!

Is the PS2 Pulse out yet?

Would it work on the old school PS3s?

i'm pretty sure it will, backwards compatability is backwards compatability.
    i love my 'retro' PS3
i wonder if my ps2 emu will work...might be too graphics intensive...

I'm not jealous that this game will never see a US release, not at all...>_>

    AG-Wolf:

WipEout Pulse [PSP] | WipEout Pulse [PS2]

Notice anything missing in the contrail? The flare is gone. The parallel with WipEout HD is that it's also missing in there.

    RJ:

How is it not coming in the US?

I never noticed that before, but it's much better (but arguably less realistic) without the flare IMO.

How is it definitely coming to the US? For the record this game has yet to appear on US release charts.

Yeldar: Until they make a region-free PS2, an imported copy would be worthless. Especially if I can't play it.

huh...they took the flare out. that's a shame, it looks a thousand times better with it!!!

also, it's still uncertain if it's even coming out in europe, sony or studio livepool are yet to comment.

Importing for a home console is so much more complicated than importing for handhelds Not just the region locking-- won't the difference between 50 and 60 hz SDTVs be an issue as well?

I'm still glad that folks across the pond may get to play a PS2 version-- PAL has been the biggest supporter of Wipeout for a long time and definitely deserves the game, regardless of what happens for JPN and North America

If it's not coming out in this territory, I won't buy it but I'll find some way of playing it. Too bad for Sony, but hey: if they don't care about me (And the others in the same situation), why should I care about them?

And import like RJ said, is not an option. I don't have fifty PS2 consoles for every region lying around, just the NTSC one.

Looks like it's a PAL only release for now. Fkin sweet Sony, really fkin sweet. :-

    http://www.playfrance.com/ps2-wipeout-pulse.html

Also gotta love the fact that websites have no clue when it's coming out, only that it seems to be soon. Yet no advertising, etc. Do they even expect to make money out of it at Sony?

I know I've said it already, but this seems to be another nonsensical mistake to add to Sony's list.

I thought inconnue simply means unknown, not cancelled. Keep your hopes up...

From "unknown" you can deduce no information was given about those two territories. The fact that a date ONLY appears for PAL means that no info was given for elsewhere. The fact that this game's release is in so much fog and that a date is only tentatively given from site to site ONLY for PAL release is pretty bad for the other territories.
I've seen the same being done for Monster Hunter Dos (Which ended up as a Japan only release, the "CANCELLED" status appearing a full year after the game's release in Japan).

Why is there a need for territories? Why must there be a PAL format and a NTSC format as well? Why cant there be a universal format? It'll save alot of peoples balls in the long run.
