I usually make sure I brush people who don't move, especially on the tube or people on the escalator who take up the whole thing, or indeed people who walk 4 abreast along the pavement and expect me to step into the road around them. I won't push them or barge them, just make sure my shoulder brushes theirs or something. That tiny bit of contact might make them realise they're not the only person in the world.
