GTAce, your classic Qirex has exactly what The Muse’s doesn’t and the opposite you don’t have what his has. Combined the two would make a wonderful craft. AXX!!!!!!! You are going to give me a heart attack. My god they look good, especially the AG conversion. It is magnificent. I have to say dough I’m a bit disappointed about Assegai’s skin. I hoped you’ll try your own version. The colors are closer to the ingame original but a different layout then Dogg Thang’s would have been something ….different.
As for the wallpapers 5/5 just as for the skins( I would be surprised if any of your work would be less then 5)

Nadia Elenova, Jesus girl, that Piranha looks stunning. Most definitely you could be one of the 4 Aces in this.( I think we all know who are the other 3 ). Any chance for us to see it and your previous work on CR4SH3ED site? During a friendly head to head, it would be nice to have a TIE Assegai chasing an X-wing Feisar . As long as I’m concerned I’m eagerly looking forward to your next relice.

Typhy, it happened to me while I was making the Blue Grin. I believe it was my 2nd or 3rd visit on the site and I had already some progress in the ship’s development. When trying to save, instead of the blue and gray I had placed on my Triakis, I got the same Goteki pattern. I was about to crack the monitor. Even now I get a glimpse of pink and orange when I save , but fortunately it didn’t happened all the way again. I guess it is safer to save your progress as a 2d template before saving online, JustIN Case, my best friend

Well, here it is a slightly improved, or rather modified, BlueGrin. Again, pixel by pixel only in the online editor. I think it is going to be a 3rd stage for this skin, but at the moment I’m out of ideas.

Thanks . I like the way you have carved your name and the NZL in the back. My first attempt to modify a skin was also a “black”
,
however black is a very demanding color and so far, only CR4SH3D managed to master it in the WOZone Mantis. Why don’t you try to give it a more personal look? The Air Force Patch of NZ for example, I don’t know something that would make it ….more then just a “black”. Maybe play with shades of black just like Zargz did with GreenMachine. Last , welcome to the “skinners club” and to WOZ, I’m looking forward to your next.

Thanks, the flag wasnt actually that hard, I just resized a larger version and cleaned it up a bit.

Yea I find it really hard to work with, hmm I might mess with the shades and adding the NZ airforce logo is something Ill definitely consider

Edit: Wow I never realised how silly our airforce logo was, I has a picture of a kiwi and kiwis cant fly, although it seems strangly appropriate as we sold out fighter jets long ago

I don’t find it silly at all. The Royal Australian Air Force Logo has a Kangaroo instead of a kiwi, and Kangaroo most certainly don’t fly , but is a symbol for Australia and since Triakis has its headquarters there I find it quite nice on my glider. But if you don’t like it I see that there is also one insignia with just NZ instead of the kiwi. You could even make your own.

Haha if you dont count the kangaroos at bathurst, when they get hit by a car doing 250km/h+ they go flying.

Hmm making my own one sounds like a brilliant idea lol, cant believe I didnt think of it myself...

Edit: I added the airforce logo (just the kiwi is the blue circle) on the left wing (replaced one of the silver ferns) and put on a lighter shade of black and it looks awesome, thanks for the suggestion

Edit Edit: I swapped the airforce logo to the right side so there was a bit of colour there and I tidyed up the silver fern so that looks a lot better, the ships really taking shape, I keep coming up with ideas so Ill post up the finished product when Im finished. More suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I browsed this thread a bit before posting my first attempt at this, and wow, there are some amazing skins here. The Silent Hill themed skin by Dogg Thang, and the one with the circular holed metal crate by Nadia Elenova for example are just totally .

I thought I'd have a bit of fun with my first skin, and tried to do an Assegai looted by Orks from Warhammer 40k.





Certainly a learning experience. The rusted and dirty parts don't mesh very well with the plastic sheen effect the game uses, but the checker pattern worked a lot better than I thought it would. I might go back and align the stripes on the cockpit a bit better.

Quakka, really nice shading, and a cool idea, but being an Ork requisition I can't help feeling it ought to have a little more exposed metal, and maybe a few more of those characteristic decals... they're not known for their subtelty ^_^ Otherwise really nice, and great for a first attempt.

EDIT: Rush25, just noticed, that panel division on the right hand side on the nose doesn't go anywhere. That may of course be entirely intentional, in which case - Ignore me.

Hey, thanks for the comments . I agree about the lack of details. Looking at the other stuff in this thread, more detail seems better. The thing is, all the shading and the dirt takes a bit too many colors, and makes adding more distinct stuff hard. I'll have to keep this in mind for my next skin. I might revisit the Orks, though, once I get a better hang of this.

I've thought about doing some warhammer-inspired skins myself, but assumed nobody would be interested. I was actually considering doing an Eldar Assegai and a Space Marine EG.X. I might give it a go now I know at least one person might like them.
