Background
Track modifications
The Altima VII circuit was redesigned after the 2050 AGRC season by Stiggart Knurksson. As a result the track became much smoother to ride on and the shortcuts have been removed, while new grandstands have been added.
As for all F3600 tracks the pit area was moved from the side of the circuit to the underground of the starting grid itself, lifting up the craft prior to race start. This would become standard to all F3600 tracks.
Qualifying
During the two Qualifying sessions the Qirex were able to fully use their superior power on the wide and fluent circuit. But Auricom was close behind too. As expected for this course, the FEISAR team struggled to get away from the last places.
Friday top-runner was Kel Solaar, followed by Arian Tetsuo. As both John Dekka and Daniel Chang followed, it was expected that Auricom was not going all out already.
Early on Saturday Arial Tetsuo set her craft on the provisional Pole Position, which she retained until the end. Solaar stepped up his time too, but couldn't reach the Japanese pilot. Dekka and Chang showed that their performance was not off either, but Arian placed her craft onto third in grid. The FEISAR pilots were not able to significantly cut time from the previous day and filled the forth row.
Races
Arial initially took advantage of the Pole Position and got a good lead infront of Kel Solaar. Arian dropped back after a botchered start, letting through both AG-Systems craft, left to battle with Cherovoski through the opening lap. The Qirex eventually got away from the American ship, starting to chase down Chang in lap 2. At front Arial further dragged from Solaar.
In lap 3 Tetsuo passed the Chinese pilot, but had an impossible gap to Dekka.
Passing the finish line, Arial, Solaar and Dekka were the first to qualify for the next round.
The second race was started with a FEISAR front row, Cherovoski, Chang, Arian Tetsuo, Dekka and finally Solaar and Arial Tetsuo.
This time Solaar hit a super start, leaving his rival in the Auricom in dust. Despite having no pressure to win the race, the Russian battled through the field. His team mate made use of the stalled opponents left trackside due to his excellent weapon useage. De la Rente and Jackson managed to gain a marginal lead though lap 1, while Chang and Dekka followed along. Cherovoski was one of the first victims of the Qirex duo, dropping last.
Lap 2 saw the Russian team taking on FEISAR and surpassing them in the first chicane. The rest of the field soon followed and engaged in missile-trade with Jackson, before outspeeding de la Rente.
In the final lap the field was almost sorted. The FEISAR team had a hard time and finally fell victim to Cherovoski. As de la Rente was hit by a well-aimed rocket, her teammate found a way past too.
Solaar won closely followed by his Japanese teammate. Chang passed Dekka by order to secure both crafts for the next round.
The starting order for the final race was de la Rente, Jackson, Cherovoski, Arial Tetsuo, Dekka and Chang. Arian and Solaar gave a Qirex last row.
Initially both FEISAR craft were passed by Cherovoski and followed by Dekka and Arial Tetsuo. Chang was directly overtaken by the Qirex team.
As the Tetsuo twins had a rough battle through the rest of the race, Dekka went into the final lap with enough of a gap to take on the FEISAR craft. As he passed by the American began to enclose on Cherovoski, landed a missile on the Auricom craft and passed by. The following FEISAR pilots also engaged in combat, stalling her engine long enough that even the Japanese duo passed her.
Going into the final lap, Solaar was close to Cherovoski. Oddly he did not attack her, nor made any serious move, despite passing multiple weapon pads. Thanks to a perfect performance, despite the combat with Dekka, both FEISAR qualified for the next round too.
Final results saw Arial on top, followed by Solaar and Dekka. Her sister, Daniel Chang and de la Rente collected points as well. Paul Jackson did not claim any points, but was qualified. Only Anastasia Cherovoski had an early dropout from the championship competition.
