Default Duotone - my wipeout inspired racing game

    Hey folks!

I thought it was time to start showing off the progress I have been making on my racing game Duotone.

Its a simple tap-to-switch lanes but rather then it have a random track generated on the fly, the game has small, tracks which loop. The game speeds up the longer you don't crash into anything and you really get a sense of speed.
I am Making this in Unity and I have been creating art, music and the core design for it. My friend is coding it.

The above is the latest screen of the game.I want to release this on PC and mobile (hence the portrait screen ratio). Im going for a glitch type vibe using a shader I wrote in shader forge and simple models and texture work so I can let the shader make it look cool whilst not having to spend too much time on art production. (quicker production suits me at the moment so I dont burn out!)

The music I have been producing for the project is actually being made in music 2000,a ps1 music software title which I emulate on my pc (complete with PS 2 pad!).
I used to play around with this a lot years ago and it is the only music software I feel comfortable with.

And a link to one of the song demos I made (still needs work!)

I will continue to post WIP stuff as I carry on with.

    Cheers

I'm guessing its like Zone mode mixed with another game called Audiosurf then

Zone mode is the main inspiration but where in audio surf the tracks are generated by music, the tracks in this are designed. The tracks are quick bite sized too, so you get a feel for the speed through repetition quite quickly.

Sounds good, but I meant like Audiosurf in the sense that there are obstacles on the track and switch lanes to avoid said obstacles.
I'm getting a retro kinda vibe from the screenshot as well, I love retro games (love my SNES)

I'm getting SNES Star Fox vibe to, you know pixelated 3D polygonal models. I'd be happy with the game in its current state

Oh right - yeah, it is a lot like audio surf. I designed this for mobile so it only uses the one tap input to change lanes and eventually do other things too.
I am a HUGE star fox fan, in particular the SNES one, so there is def an element of that in there.

    thanks for your kind words!

The game looks interesting by itself, but this:
